Qualified Translator – Bekaa Valley – Baalbeck

Scope of responsibility: Perform specific activities related to interpretation and translation, according to supervisor’s instructions and MSF procedures and protocols, in order to ensure a proper representation and understanding of MSF activities and core values.   Function responsibilities include: Provide all necessary written and oral interpretation and translation according to supervisor’s specialisation (Medical, Operational, Administrative, Logistic, etc.); Perform all administrative tasks required by supervisors (arrangement of meetings, minute taking, and follow-up for patient care); Ensure that supervisors are aware of cultural nuances when dealing with Lebanese authorities and counterparts to ensure that a good working relationship is maintained; Provide necessary feedback to supervisors following discussions and negotiations and educating supervisors on effective methods of culturally sensitive communication; Ensure that all meeting minutes are recorded and that translated documents are properly filed; Ensure confidentiality and medical secrecy; Assist respective department for any relative work needed. Immediately inform supervisor of any problems that might be linked to individual behaviour (counterproductive and/or culturally insensitivity). Look after all equipment provided, i.e. dictionaries or other books related to MSF and translations Perform any other tasks, as requested
