Quality Assurance Nurse

  • In coordination with Head Nurse, maintains the project nursing department policies, procedures, mission and vision and ensure all nursing staff are aware and applying them in daily practice.
  • Ensure respect of Infection Prevention and control procedures as [per MSF standards and act as focal point for IPC.
  • Play a role in ensuring the adoption of a patient centered approach in nursing care.
  • Together with medical managers train staff on Palliative care and nursing tasks designated to that.
  • Establish and maintain tracking systems for nursing quality activities (file review, regular audit practices,etc…). Investigate problems and implement corrective measures.
  • IPC: act as focal point; do audit, boost committee, follow up on implementation processes.
  • Quality approach: audit of practices, following on quality indicators (that needs to be identified prior by managers)
  • Patient centered approach: communication, health promotion, place of the patient & family in his treatment, etc….
  • Identify if patients/care takers needs in terms of health education were assessed and tackled by nursing team.
  • Ensure planning trainings as per continuous needs assessments/adding technical input to employees evaluation.
  • Ensuring that all staff  using medical devices are qualified and trained. Ensuring that cleaning and minor maintenance tasks are performed according to the protocols. Reporting any malfunction to the head nurse.
  • Elaborate regular reporting to Head Nurse, in order to have updated and reliable information about the day-to-day activity in the project, output/ outcome and support decision-taking.

    More specificities regarding IPC tasks:

  • Coordinate the project IPC committees, arrange and schedule meetings
  • Ensure the availability of an IPC action plan and follow up on issues which need accomplishment and follow up
  • Ensure the availability of related IPC guidelines in coordination with the Head Nurse and PMR or MedCo in absnece of PMR. Perform the needed IPC training  required for different level of staff within the ABS program and other pillars
  • Perform the different general IPC audits, SIPCA and monitoring tools required at each department of the healthcare facilities
  • Technical support in the monitoring and analysis of ABR, follow up on culture result , communicate with the ABR medical in charge in regards of report result , follow up any outbreak with the field ,MIO-IPC  and IPC referent
  • Follow up with Hosp log regarding structure/audits
  • Involvement of IPC focal point in the different ancillary department
  • follow up on IPC material, proper usage and availability
  • Coordinate with the MAM in regards of staff vaccination program, in addition of any accidental exposure to blood and body fluid
  • In collaboration with Hopsital Log,Follow up on ancillary departments, Kitchen, laundry, hygiene agents.

BS in Nursing
Essential 2 years of previous experience. Having worked in MSF or other NGO’s and in developing countries is desirable. Experience in PICU is an asset.
