Community Health Worker/Mobilizer (Vaccination Campaign)

-Function responsibilities include:

  • Collect and report (to IEC/HP Supervisor) specific information related to his/her community: perception of the sickness, food security, vaccination status of children, perception of the services, constraints and strengths, vulnerability, level of information, living conditions and risks related.
  • Deliver information to his/her community on specific health topics and about MSF, the services it provides.
  • Consolidate the link between his/her community and the MSF services; give advice how to better involve his/her community in the activities of awareness and prevention; indicate possible local actors or local NGOs and community project which could be involved in awareness activities at a local level.
  • Support the mapping of the territory and population: schools, churches, villages, gathering points; support and facilitate relations with local authorities of his/her community, where requested by the IEC/HP Supervisor; support MSF in the defaulter tracing activities.
  • Report to HP Supervisor: activities, problems met, strengths and constraints.

-Specific activities:

There will be Periodic Intensification of Routine Immunization activity in Wadi Khaled for 2 months, and the CHW will be part of a team with specific tasks of:

  • Inform the community about the activity and follow up with parents on the vaccination.
  • Participate in the adaptation of messages by providing community misconceptions related to immunization.
  • Link the community to the facility.
  • Provide information about MSF and immunization activity.
  • Attend meetings and trainings proposed by the organization for continuous skill development.
  • Perform any other tasks as requested by the hierarchy.

-Experience required:

  • Desirable: A minimum of 1 year of previous work experience in a similar position
  • Desirable: A minimum of 1 year of previous work experience in (I)NGO’s

-Required qualification:

  • High School Diploma is Mandatory
  • Training in CHW will be an asset.

Essential: Intermediate computer literacy in using MS-office applications (including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
