COUNSELLOR EDUCATOR - MMU PROJECT - BEKAA

Accountabilities

• Identify the psychosocial, socio-economic and administrative needs for patients.
• Actively promote mental health in the community,  the availability of counselling services and carry out, individual basic psycho educational sessions,  to patients and to their families (when needed), in order to alleviate their psychosocial difficulties within the project scope.
• Refer patients to the Psychologist in the clinics or other institutions for further assistance (when necessary), in order to propose the best support available, and ensure a regular feedback after referral.
• Keep files and statistics of daily activities and participate in team meetings to share experiences and discuss special cases with technical referent (or with the medical team, preserving confidentiality).
• Inform Line Manager of problem of any kind arising during the day-to-day activities.
• Active participation in supervision of focal points up in the area of intervention.
•  Discuss difficulties and problems in counselling with supervisor.
• Provide phone sessions following SOP of phone consultations.
• Keeps a regular daily report to the technical referent, a brief description about the situation using reporting tools, and monthly activity report;
• Interaction with the focal points and provide them support if needed.

Requirements

Education

Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or other similar Degree/Diploma.

Experience

1 year of relevant experience is essential. Experience with NGO is an asset.

Languages                   

Arabic (mandatory) and English (asset).
