Logistic Supervisor - Emergency Intervention - South Lebanon (Chouf / Nabatieh)

Today, MSF provides independent, impartial assistance in more than 60 countries to people whose survival is threatened by violence, neglect, or catastrophe, primarily due to armed conflict, epidemics, malnutrition, and exclusion from health care or natural disasters. 

In Lebanon, MSF teams are working across all nine governorates to respond to urgent needs. We provide access to primary healthcare services, mental health support, trauma and emergency care, and support for displaced people through mobile medical clinics in shelters, PHCC and MoSA Centers. MSF teams also distribute essential supplies and logistics support such as hygiene kits, blankets, water, fuel, and medical supplies to communities, healthcare facilities and hospitals.

  • Starting date: ASAP
  • Type of contract: 100% activity rate, Intervention Fixed term contract, upon needs. 
  • Place of work: Chouf, Lebanon (with regular movement to Nabatieh, when the situation allows)
  • Salary: LBP 148,570,000 per month. Updated competitve salary package with benefits including allowances, medical coverage and paid leave. 
     

Scope of responsibility:

Supervising the daily logistics activities and providing maintenance to the MSF equipment, facilities and infrastructures, according to MSF standards and protocols in order to maintain the facilities in perfect conditions and collaborate in the development of the mission.

Accountabilities:

  • Monitoring maintenance activities of infrastructures, management of non-medical stocks and equipment according to MSF standards.
  • Ensuring the check and follow-up of facilities under the line manager's supervision through daily visits to the facilities and reporting any anomalies or problems, evaluation of the rehabilitation needs and following up minor building rehabilitation work according to supervisor's instructions; checking that premises observe security norms and monitoring the consumption of mechanical and electrical vehicles/machines/devices.
  • Planning together with the line manager the required checks and maintenance activities of energy systems/set-up according to MSF standards.
  • Coordinating and leading the logistics team under his/her responsibility which includes daily supervision, monitoring of the quality of work and the definition of each person's task, drawing up their working schedules; organizing and leading team meetings; participating in the recruitment of team personnel and attending logistics meetings and accounting for his activities.
  • Ensuring the vehicle fleet maintenance which includes planning and overseeing timely preventive and curative maintenance of all project vehicles according to MSF standards and Instructing and monitoring drivers on correct driving habits and standard checks.
  • Managing and following up orders which includes collecting logistics orders coming from different departments or health facilities; drawing up and following up orders according to the procedures in force;  providing technical support to the storekeeper, makes local purchases according to MSF supply procedures and ensures reception conditions of freight or arriving material as well as the organization and setting up of materials before its shipment.

Context Specific Accountabilities:

  • Coordinate closely with the Logistics Manager to ensure timely and appropriate support interventions across the Iqlim al-Tuffah area and partner hospitals.
  • Oversee and facilitate the allocation, delivery, and follow-up of in-kind donations, including fuel, oxygen, and food supplies, to targeted health facilities and operational sites in coordination with logistics and field teams.
  • Maintain regular communication with hospital focal points and internal stakeholders to assess urgent needs, verify intervention priorities, and ensure continuity of critical support services.
  • Support the monitoring and documentation of donation distribution and intervention outcomes to ensure accountability, efficiency, and alignment with operational objectives.
  • Support shelters within the designated area through the coordination and distribution of Non-Food Items (NFIs), as well as water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) assistance, under the guidance and supervision of the line manager.
  • Provide on-site logistical support to Mobile Medical Units (MMUs), including tent assembly, preparation and provision of stationery and operational materials, and transportation of logistical supplies and equipment between locations.

Requirements:

Education

Essential: Lebanese Baccalaureate Certificate of Secondary Education issued by the Lebanese Ministry of Education and Higher Education (شهادة البكالوريا اللبنانية للتعليم الثانوي صادرة من وزارة التربية والتعليم العالي اللبنانية and related technical diploma.

Experience

Essential: 2 years in a similar post
Desirable: At least one year of similar experience in local or international NGO

Languages                        

Essential: Full professional proficiency (reading, writing, and speaking) in English and Arabic.
Desirable: Proficiency in French at any level.

Knowledge

Essential: intermediate to advanced knowledge of MS-Office applications (word, excel and outlook).
