MEDICAL DOCTOR - MMU PROJECT - Medical Doctor

Accountabilities

  • Apply medical knowledge and skills to assess the condition of suspected case and provide support as advices about isolation or quarantine linked to the situation.
  •  Carry out patient consultations, prescribing the necessary treatment, respecting MSF protocols.
  • Keep the patient and/or his/her family informed about the evolution and provide appropriate explanations about the treatment to follow, and ensure they understood.
  • Follow up the evolution of the isolation, through daily visits or phone consultation, deciding whether they can remain in isolation or be referred.
  • Assess the risk factors and decide the referral of the patient or not.
  • Check and control the rational distribution of medicines and equipment under his/her responsibility and guarantee the quality while ensuring general compliance with standing hygiene standards.
  • Assess the needs in terms of medicines and equipment for the MMU activities.
  • Participate in the collection and analysis of epidemiological data, checking its validity and informing the Line Manager about any problem or complication of patient’s situation, medical error and monitors the proper functioning of the MMU department, equipment or material.
  • Ensure ongoing training of the medical/paramedical multidisciplinary team in order to optimize the quality of care.
  • Know and ensure that all MSF medical protocols are followed and implemented, checking universal precautions are followed at all times and reducing bio-hazard risks and improving infection control.
  •  Ensure professional and medical confidentiality is respected at all time.
  • Manage the team under his/her direct responsibility according to MSF HR policies and procedures, supervising their performance.
  • Planning and setting priorities of the MMU team.
  • Responding the community concerns about COVID-19 (phone calls or in the field).
  • Knowing, promoting, implementing and following up the universal hygiene standards/ precautions.
  • Support the regular project in terms of home visit for NCD patients.
  • Participating in the MMU department-related pharmacy and medical equipment control and maintenance (quality and its functioning, storage conditions, follow-up of expired drugs inventories, stock takes of medicines and material at every team change over ensuring no material is taken out of nursing etc.).
  • Participate in the training of the municipality staff and other training on request.
  • Collaborate with the HP team and community focal point to respond to any concern in the community.

 

Education

Medical Doctor Diploma

 

Experience

Desirable 2 years of previous experience and previous experience in other NGO’s.

Relevant experience in team management (training).

 

Languages

Arabic essential. English desirable.
