Job Overview
Megaphone is seeking a Social Media Video Editor to edit short-form videos (reels) tailored for social media platforms. The role requires working closely with the news and design teams to produce several template-based videos daily, covering the day’s news developments.
In addition to editing, the Social Media Video Editor will occasionally support the videography team with production tasks, such as on-site editing and sound recording. Given the dynamic nature of our work, flexibility is essential. The role may require responding to urgent events on weekends, in which case equivalent time off will be provided to maintain work-life balance.
The Social Media Video Editor will report directly to the Creative Director and play a key role in delivering impactful visual content for Megaphone’s audience.
Working Hours:
5 shifts per week (8 hours each). Shifts may include weekends or evenings.
Role and Responsibilities
- Edit videos daily.
- Provide necessary assets for videos (visuals, soundtracks, etc.).
- Occasionally assist the video team with editing and sound recording.
- Coordinate with fellow team members.
Required Qualifications
- Solid experience in video editing
- Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro; working knowledge of After Effects.
- Background in media studies, design, animation, radio-TV or film-making.
- Strong knowledge of motion graphics animation
- Comfortable with in-house voiceover recording, sound editing, and mixing.
- Good understanding of local politics.
- Fluent in Arabic and English
- Team player with experience working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Proactive and open to collaborative work.
Additional Qualifications
- 1 to 2 years of experience in the media industry is highly desirable
- Filming is a plus
