Project Officer

Main key areas of responsibility


Programmatic:

  • Supports the Projects Coordinator and Regional Coordinator in writing the Project Proposal to be submitted to the donor, especially in conducting relevant research and desk review.
  • Under the supervision of the Projects Coordinator, develops implementation plans and reports on project’s progress to donors.
  • Follows up on the update of programs/ projects schedules as needed to help track, monitor, and ensure that they are adhered to during implementation.
  • Gathers information and enters data into the related databases to support ongoing monitoring and evaluation of implemented projects/programs, including transcriptions, under the supervision of the Regional Coordinator or Projects Coordinator as relevant.
  • Conducts field visits to monitor projects' activities and report on them to the Projects Coordinator as relevant.
  • Attends training with donors concerning narrative reporting requirements and compliance issues as and when needed.
  • Attends and participates in project activities and prepares briefs about them as well as minutes of meetings.
  • Supports the provision of content for the website and social media platforms.

Administrative:

  • Acts as a host in online activities, monitoring attendance, collecting evaluations, and generating summation reports.
  • Oversees day-to-day activities and assists with administrative tasks and processes.
  • Ensures proper projects and programs’ documentation under the supervision of the Projects or Regional Coordinators, including the compilation and documentation of training material and best practices, among others, as per the recommendations provided by management.
  • Oversees deadlines, workflow, meetings, and appointments relevant to the project.
  • Secures quotations related to projects/programs under the guidance of the Projects Coordinator, including quotations from venue providers, suppliers, and trainers.
  • Acts as a member of the Procurement Committee as needed.
  • Prepares material for the institutional archive and shares content with the Regional Coordinator for revision and approval.
  • Supports programmatic branding, visibility, and media coverage in collaboration with the Projects Coordinator and external consultants and under the supervision of the Regional Coordinator.

    Profile and Qualifications:

  • Knowledgeable in the HIV field.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in project implementation in NGOs.
  • University degree in Social Studies or Public Health or Public Relations or Social Sciences.
  • Computer skills: Competent in using Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize tasks and work under pressure.

Language Proficiency:

Fluent in Arabic, English and French.
