Communications Intern

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning and implementing fundraising events
• Assist in designing commuications material for major events hosted by Mentor Arabia
• Draft, distribute and pitch news releases, media alerts and other stories
• Help with development of content for social media and website
• Assist in organizing and implementing awareness campaigns and activities
• Advocate for Mentor Arabia’s cause and work in the community at large
   

Qualifications

• Completed or working toward a college degree, preferably in a related field (e.g., Marketing/Communications, or Public Relations, Nonprofit , or other relevant major)
• Computer literate (working knowledge of word processing, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Effective communicator, both written and oral
• Ability to communicate in a professional manner with press and community contacts
• Self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, multi-tasker and meet deadlines
• Interested in nonprofit development/communication work

Duration
We ask for a minimum commitment of 3 months for 3-5 days per week to ensure that the post is beneficial to both the intern and Mentor Arabia, while we cannot guarantee a permanent position on completion of this post.
