Media and Communications Officer

  • Assisting in positioning the organization among stakeholders and presenting its image that ensures a clear and comprehensive perception on its role in children and youth empowerment in the Arab world.
  • Developing communication and marketing strategies and campaigns
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships and contacts with national, regional, and international media stakeholders.
  • Leading and coordinating the work of Mentor Arabia initiatives.
  • Coordinating the work of Mentor Arabia friends committee.
  • Organizing, attending and representing the organization at promotional events such as press conferences, visits and exhibitions, when assigned by the Head of Communication.
  • Identifying target audience and potential PR contacts.
  • Creating content for social media, website and report.
  • Staying updated with industry trends and best practices in communication.
  • Ensuring efficient response and involvement in all media related aspects of the foundation.
  • Providing creative input, direction and supervision all Mentor Arabia’s suppliers providing printed collaterals, media kits, website services & digital tools.
  • Creating press material, including press releases and newsletters.
  • Commanding or undertaking relevant market research.
  • Enhancing the online presence on the foundation (reach, engagement, rentability)
  • Assisting in organizing and implementing awareness campaigns and activities.
  • Maintaining a calendar of media and com events and implement effective event management.
  • Assisting in preparing a budget for the advocacy and media events.
  • Developing and maintaining consistent collaboration with Mentor International, where applicable, on media and communications levels when assigned by the Head of Communications.
  • Performing other duties as required

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field
• Master’s degree is a plus
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a communications role
• Experience in corporate communications, internal and external communications strategy
• Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages for various audiences
• Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Familiarity with communications technology and tools, including email marketing platforms, content management systems, and social media management tools
• Proven experience in media relations, with the ability to secure media coverage and handle crisis communication
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English
• Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
