Program Associate

Mentor Arabia Background  Mentor Arabia is a regional non-governmental Foundation; which advocates for drug prevention among Arab youth and children, founded in 2006 in Dubai, UAE, with its headquarters established in Beirut, Lebanon Mentor Arabia is the regional branch of Mentor International, founded in 1994, registered in Switzerland and based in London – UK and headed by her Majesty Queen Silvia of Sweden. The foundation is led by its Board of Trustees, chaired by Prince Turki Bin Talal Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud and consists of a range of high profile personalities from the region. It includes representatives from esteemed organizations such as the league Of Arab states, the United Nations Office on Drugs & Crime (UNODC), Mentor International, in addition to its committees that consist of youth, celebrities and specialists in the field.  Our work spreads across 22 Arab countries, defined as members of the Arab League. Mentor is inviting candidates to apply for the position of Program Associate to support its activities.   Duties and Responsibilities  Planning & Strategizing Provide susbtantive input to the foundation and program department strtageies Contribute to program development Develop detailed program plan taking into account allocated time and resources Provide regular updates on projects status and progress as per the plan Initiate new pipelines Implementation & Delivery Follow up on programs and projects implementation as per the work plans Plan and excute related workshops and meetings Liaise with the partners and consultants to ensure timely delivery of outputs Escalate any challenges/roadblocks to find solutions and move forward Financial/Resource Mobilization Develop full fledged program and project budgets Generate financial progress reports for the projects Ensure that projects are completed according to budget and time  Partnerhip Building  Develop strong relationships with counterparts (NGOs, governent, international and regioonal organizations...etc.) Interact continuously with project members and ensure that their objectives and tasks are clear and well managed Share knowledge and best practices with partners Learning & Knowledge Management Lead constructive research and identify best practices in the field Contirbute to training materila nad manuals development Develop expertise in core areas aligned to (program management, Youth, Children, Parents and Educators...etc) Disseminate information and knowledge among stakehodlders, colleagues and benificiaries Act as a key resource and liaison to other functional areas of the foundation  Qualifications  Required 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in program/project managemet and/or related field University degree in one of the following fields political science, economics, international relations, business, Health Science, social science or any other related field Prior experience in a non-profit or international field, with focus on youth or children Good Project management, budgetting, planning and time management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Arabic and English  Preferable Advanced university degree is an added value Experience in drug prevention Good problem solving capacity Ability to work under pressure   We encourage all qualified candidates to apply, irrespective of race, gender or age.
