Case Manager (Bekaa)

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY: The Case Manager will provide supportive services in SDCs (Social Development Centers) and community centers in Beqaa/ Nabatiyeh area to manage child protection and gender based violence cases. S/He will provide support to Syrian refugee community to support them with emergency assistance and improve their access to services through supportive sessions with children and families. The case manager will work closely both with Area Manager and other field staff (including field officer, psychologists, outreach workers, psychosocial assistants) as well as local partners to ensure that activities are implemented according to schedule, and required quality. The case manager reports directly to the Area Manager and program manager with written and oral activity. S/He will maintain impartiality and neutrality in dealing with all stakeholders.   ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Along with Mercy Corps’ Area Manager and Field Officer, identify local partners, Syrian outreach workers, and community actors conduct monitoring and reporting of child protection and gender based violence concerns; Provide case management support to vulnerable children and their families through the stages of: Engagement Holistic Assessment Planning Accessing Resources/ Coordination Intervention Monitoring Discharge Follow-up Participate in self-care sessions with Syrian outreach workers, psychosocial assistants, psychologists, local partners and community actors; Liase with other protection and psychosocial support professionals in Beqaa/ Nabatiyah coordination meetings as directed. Implement case management sessions for vulnerable children and families and submit reports and required documentation about each session. Follow up for identified protection cases through home/shelter visits and identify families or individuals in need of psychosocial support or counseling through home/shelter visits. Consult on individual cases with protection concerns. Collect information about vulnerable families through interviews and observations carried out via outreach home visits and in CFS/ YFS. Regularly contact the focal points to get information about the general situation of most vulnerable population affected by the Syrian crisis, and especially within the refugee’s communities in Beqaa and Nabatiyeh area; Share information to displaced Syrians about the correct procedures and required documents needed for registration and accessing other community based services Meet with Mercy Corps staff on regular basis and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings. Submit regular monitoring and progress reports in English. Work with MC staff on the development of reporting format. Work closely with MC’s protection and youth advisors who will provide advice to the staff on psychosocial support and case management. Attend relevant workshops and trainings as instructed Ensure the close coordination and sharing of information with the various activities of the (APSCP) program staff including area manager, psychologists, field officers, outreach workers, psychosocial assistants; Conduct himself/herself both professionally and personally in such a manner as to bring credit to Mercy Corps and to not jeopardize its humanitarian mission; Other duties as assigned;
