Intaj Internship

Background: o BA/S or equivalent in environmental sciences, social sciences, economics, political sciences, or other relevant field preferred; o Strong research skills o Knowledge in waste management techniques o Knowledge about the local recycling market o Have a high sense of community o Written and oral communication skills in English and Arabic ; o Demonstrated attention to detail; high level of creativity, as well as cooperatively with team members; Purpose / Project Description: The intern will have an exposure in the implementation of INTAJ (Improved Networks, Training and Jobs) economic development program funded by the Government of the United Kingdom. The goal of program is to strengthen Lebanese communities primarily in Beqaa and North Governorates, by building stronger business and increasing employment. The program works on three different levels: skills building for individuals, SME support and recycling industry support. The main focus of the intern will be on the recycling industry support component. Learning Objectives: o Shadow the Project Coordinator in planning and implementing program activities o Participate in the conducted research on the distribution of recycling industries and initiatives in North Lebanon o Participate in planning and implementation for outreach events and workshops Participate in meetings, community engagements and awareness raising/information dissemination events; o Acquire knowledge and follow MC policies and procedures Timeframe / Schedule: 3 months: from 15 August 2017 till 15 15 November 2017 -with flexible attendance The Intern will have the chance to participate in other INTAJ components and have the exposure to meet with the different departments during the training period
