Field Coordinator

Mercy-USA for Aid and Development is dedicated to alleviating human suffering and supporting individuals and their communities in their efforts to become more self-sufficient. Incorporated in the State of Michigan in 1988, Mercy-USA’s projects focus on improving health, nutrition and access to safe water, as well as promoting economic and educational growth around the world.   Key Responsibilities: Supports in the data collection phases with the Consultant and Project staff. Collects baseline data and end line data for the Energy campaign designer on the project. Daily report submissions to the Project Manager. Prepares distribution plans and provides logistics support.  Supports and conducts any focus groups, community sessions, capacity building activities and other relevant activities required. Conducts beneficiary household visits where necessary. Any other tasks as required by the Project Manager to support other project staff. Field Worker Ensure field activities are well-monitored Holds/Supports in holding focus groups Ensures that beneficiaries are aware of services Supports Field team in all and any activities as requires Follows and prepares field action plan- weekly to-do list and reports on these Prepares daily field reports for submission to Field Program Manager Consolidates and enters data to ease reporting and submits them to Program Manager for monitoring, follow-up and verification. Supports field team in identifying gaps,needs and improvements possible in overall program implementation taking into account M-USA vision and mission. Must have working knowledge of social environemnt under which we operate. Reports in a timely manner referrals, complaints and concerns of the beneficiaries as well as provides timely feedback on the day-to-day activities in to order to improve implementation. Must have general program and project knowledge of activity plans in order to effectively implement and report on them. May be assigned certain projects or tasks per Field Manager or Program Manager requirements.   Minimum Hiring Requirements: Electrical engineering diploma At least 1 year experience working with NGO’s and/or on project sites Good command of the English language   Competencies: -Corporate Competencies: Demonstrate integrity and respect to M-USA values and mission. Ability to identify program challenges and plan and communicate alternatives for smooth implementation of programs. Builds and establishes proper and organized relationships with management, staff, partners and IP’s as required.  -Knowledge Management and Learning: Ability to familiarize self with new areas and people. Ability to deal with day-to-day stresses, complaints and field level security concerns that may arise Ability to use tools provided with little direction Ability to build new relations with individuals on the field in a comfortable and safe way. Ability to differentiate between personal and business relations on the field. -Self-Management: Self-motivated, quick learner with an initiative to perform well and beyond expectations Calm and well-mannered under pressure Quick response to urgent requests for information. Takes and responds well to feedback Open to opposing and various opinions Energetic and positive about the work being conducted Focused on results and meeting deadlines.
