MEAL Coordinator - Ref# 396

Job Purpose

The Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning Coordinator will be in charge of the monitoring and evaluation of Project activities, and reflect M&E to advance accountability and learning. The Coordinator will be dedicated to: Update and perform the M&E plan; undertake regular field visits to provide support in implementation of the M&E plan; design, review and update the M&E data collection system and tools; ensure the collection of M&E related (qualitative and quantitative) data and produce needed reports; support in documenting and filing, as well as reporting challenges and lessons learned.

Under the supervision of the direct line manager, the MEAL coordinator will work in close cooperation with Mercy-USA Program and support the MEAL team in carrying out MEAL objectives and activities. 

 

Main Responsibilities

Developing the Project’s M&E plan, within the framework of a MEAL approach.

Developing M&E data collection tools

Ensuring the proper utilization of Mercy-USA’s prepared monitoring tools.

Supporting the program in designing and developing project tracking sheets.

Participating in regular field monitoring visits as per the set plan to ensure appropriate services delivery.

Ensuring the collection of quantitative data by carrying out PDM, satisfaction survey and information collection at field level. Follow all appropriate modalities for these tasks.

Ensuring the collection of qualitative data (i.e. Through Focus Groups discussions).

Compiling and Analyzing data collected.

Designing and completing accountability checklists for the field to ensure that field staff are displaying appropriate project implementation and behaviors.

Supporting the project manager in overseeing the conduction of IYCF training and preparing the training packages.

Ensuring that all data entered on KOBO, is accurate and up to date.

Preparing M&E reports, and related sections when needed (project progress reports).

Reporting regularly on progress and challenges, and recommending corrective actions whenever needed.

Ensuring that all project’s documents and MEAL reports are archived and easily accessible to the person in-charge

Compiling and managing all received feedback and complaints from Project stakeholders (i.e. beneficiaries and caregivers) and reported to the line manager. All feedback and complaint tasks must be based on Mercy-USA Feedback and Complaint Mechanism.

Reporting all negative feedback or lack of accountability, protection issues or “Do No Harm” policy breach to the line manager.

Supporting in the design and dissemination of project related information, communication and awareness materials.

Identifying and developing project related lessons learned and success stories in close collaboration and coordination with relevant project staff.

Participating in program meetings and providing updates on MEAL activities to the relevant department.

Participating in all training that line managers see suitable.
