Protection Officer

Key Responsibilities: Prepare a Protection Unit guidance document, terms of reference document and work plan that incorporates information on needed materials, strategy, referral systems, confidentiality and follow-up amongst other items with support from the Program Managers at the Tripoli Office. Set-up of Protection Unit within Mercy-USA Lebanon. Conducts household visits per plan with at least one work day in the office. Prepare weekly reports on findings and activities held. Case management and preparation of files for each case as well monitoring and follow-up. Creating a standard and assessing projects before submission for approval to ensure inclusion of Protection elements.  Preparation and implementation of activities for beneficiaries to attend which provide safe and welcoming spaces and incorporate Protection elements and/or are Protection projects. Submit new proposals to improve our Protection capacities. Support and monitor the field in any activities to include and ensure psycho-social elements are considered. Support in any other tasks on need- basis per qualifications. Coordinating with the relevant colleagues on case referrals, follow-up and data. Team management where and when it becomes needed. Ensuring the protection and storage of confidential data both in soft and hard copies. Provide relevant trainings when required on how to maintain and protect beneficiaries from SBGV, GBV, Child abuse, and gender awareness in general. Cases that may appearon the field include: 1-      Violence and aggression 2-      Introversion 3-      Smoking and drug use 4-      Stress 5-      Anxiety 6-      Lacking hygiene 7-      Lacking self-confidence 8-      Sexual, emotional or physical violence 9-      Other social problems Performance Indicators: Report findings and submissions. Growth of this department and ability to make it an active unit within the first six months of its activation. Capacity to support and advice on a project as planned and to raise issues of the field in a timely manner.
