Trainer – Life Skills

1. Background
Michel Daher Social Foundation (MDSF) is implementing an Adolescent and Youth
Development Program (My skills, My future.) to deliver vocational Competency-Based
Training (CBT) to marginalized youth. This initiative directly targets 160 highly vulnerable
youth aged 18–24, both Lebanese and non-Lebanese, with a specific focus on those who
are out of school and unable to return to formal education. The project utilizes a
structured pathway of engagement, training, and employment transition aimed at
facilitating long-term economic inclusion.


2. Objective
The objective of this assignment is to design and deliver a series of interactive life skills
sessions that empower vulnerable youth (Lebanese and refugees aged 18–24) divided
into 10 sessions of 5 hours for each group (4 groups) to develop the personal, social, and
behavioral competencies necessary for success in life, learning, and work.
The Life Skills Trainer will help participants strengthen their communication, teamwork,
problem-solving, decision-making, and emotional resilience while promoting values of
respect, inclusion, and responsibility. The overall goal is to enhance youth employability,

social engagement, and preparedness for the next steps in their learning or career
pathways under the Programme


3. Scope of Work
Key responsibilities include:
● The Service provider might be requested to attend a TOT session delivered by the
project partners along with the project team members to align the curriculum
with Unicef guidelines.
• Curriculum Development
● Develop a structured training plan for Ten 10 sessions per group, for four groups
(5 hours each) adapted to the needs and educational levels of youth aged 18–24.
● Ensure the curriculum integrates both core and transferable life skills, such as:
○ Communication and teamwork
○ Emotional intelligence and stress management
○ Problem-solving and decision-making
○ Goal setting and self-motivation
○ Conflict resolution and respect for diversity
● Incorporate cross-cutting themes such as gender equality, environmental
responsibility, inclusion, and civic engagement.

• Training Delivery
● Facilitate Ten (10) interactive, youth-centered sessions per group using
participatory methodologies including group discussions, role-plays, games,
storytelling, and reflection exercises.
● Foster a safe, inclusive, and motivating environment where youth feel confident
to express themselves and share experiences.

● Encourage practical application of life skills through scenarios linked to real-life
and workplace situations.

• Assessment & Documentation
● Conduct short pre- and post-session assessments to gauge participants’ progress
and understanding.
● Record attendance, engagement levels, and key observations from each session.
● Provide qualitative feedback and recommendations for follow-up or additional
support.

• Reporting & Coordination
● Submit concise reports summarizing session content, participant attendance,
feedback, challenges, and success stories.
● Coordinate closely with the project team to ensure alignment and integration of
life skills within the overall learning pathway.


4. Deliverables
The Life skills Provider is expected to deliver the following:
● Detailed session plan and guidance materials (presentations, handouts, etc.).
● Pre- and post-session assessment results or summaries.
● Session reports highlighting participant engagement, outcomes, and
recommendations for improvement.
● Final summary report covering all sessions, lessons learned, and
recommendations for future implementation.


5. Duration of Assignment
● Total Duration: Forty(40) sessions (5h each) - Ten sessions per group (5h each).
● Implementation Period: Between December 2025 and July 2026 (Exact
dates to be planned on a later stage)

6. Qualifications
The selected individual or organization must meet the following criteria:
● Bachelor’s degree or higher in education, psychology, social sciences, youth
development, or a related field.
● Minimum 3–5 years of experience in life skills facilitation, youth empowerment,
or TVET soft skills training.
● Proven experience working with vulnerable youth and applying participatory,
learner-centered methodologies.
● Familiarity with UNICEF’s Life Skills Framework or similar youth development
approaches.
● Strong facilitation, communication, and mentoring skills.
● Previous experience with UNICEF or other international NGOs is an asset.


7. Location
Ferzol, Zahle, Bekaa (Michel Daher Social Foundation building).


8. Reporting and supervision
The trainer/service provider will report and keep close coordination with the Project
Manager at MDSF. Coordination and scheduling support will be provided by MDSF staff


9. Payment Terms
● Payment will be made via bank transfer or Telegraphic Transfer (TT): 100% upon
completion of the 40 sessions and submission of the final report
● Note: Without a valid MOF certificate, a 3.4% tax on goods and 8.5% on services
will apply
● MDSF reserves the right to withhold final payment if deliverables are incomplete
or not in line with agreed quality standards

10. Documents Required
Interested individuals or organizations should submit:
- CV or organization profile with relevant experience

- Technical proposal (approach, methodology, outline of topics)
- Financial proposal (including training delivery, clinic sessions, ...)
- Legal documents (MOF, ID, Registration Certificate)
- Sample of similar previous work


11. Confidentiality statement
All information submitted in response to this RFQ is considered confidential and must
not be disclosed to third parties without written consent from MDSF.

12. How to Apply
Interested and qualified individuals are invited to submit their proposals in response to
this Terms of Reference (TOR). Proposals must include both technical and financial
offers, prepared in accordance with the requirements below.


13. Submission Instructions
All documents should be submitted by email to: procurement@daherfoundation.org
The email subject line must clearly indicate: “RFQ-MDSF-030 for Life Skills training– MY
Skills, My Future”
Submissions must be received no later than November 4, 2025 - 12:00 pm – Beirut local
time.
Late submissions will not be accepted. Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
For any clarifications regarding this RFQ, please contact the procurement team at
procurement@daherfoundation.org before October 28, 2025. No questions will be
answered after this date.


14. Evaluation of Proposals
Proposals will be evaluated based on:
1. Technical proposal (30%)
2. Financial proposal (35%)
3. Experience in life skills training (25%)
4. Availability and alignment with proposed schedule (10%)


15. Penalties for Delay

A penalty of 1% of the total contract value per day of delay shall apply for late delivery
or failure to perform within the agreed schedule, up to a maximum of 10% of the total
contract value. The Foundation reserves the right to terminate the contract if the delay
exceeds 10 days.
