Communication Officer/ Radio Operator

Principal Responsibilities

1. Assist the SECCO in maintaining the monitoring system put in place by him in all communications from the field and elsewhere as relating to correct radio procedures, quality of transmissions, and all other situations related to all operations and security in general.
2. Operate and man, at all times, the Ops room by monitoring all means of communications during all types of MAG operations and when MAG or other vehicles are travelling to and from locations and operational sites. All to be reported to the SECCO to allow him assess any given situation.
3. Other duties as directed, in accordance with programme requirements and Secco Instructions.
4. Assist the SECCO in any situation and capacity judged by him to be of importance.

All MAG staff are expected to undertake the following general duties:

• Work towards achieving departmental business plan objectives.
• Work within the framework of MAG’s core values, promoting its ethos and mission statement.
• Keep informed of MAG activities.
• Work as part of a team and liaise with other departments to ensure effective communications across the organization.
• Ensure familiarity with and adhere to all MAG policies and procedures.
• Contribute to fundraising initiatives where appropriate.
• Ensure confidentiality of information as required by MAG policies and procedures.
• Understand and uphold the standards outlined in MAG’s Safeguarding Framework, acting with due care and attention to safeguard the wellbeing of anyone that comes into contact with MAG’s work and reporting concerns if they do arise
• Undertake any other duties appropriate to the post as may be required.
