Community Liaison Team Leader

The CL Team Leader has responsibility for carrying out Community Liaison and RE tasks under the supervision of the Community Liaison Manager and Community Liaison Supervisor with the procedures taught during the CL/MRE training course and described at MAG's Standard Operating Procedures. The CL Team Leader shall provide accurate information and reports and will be responsible for the daily management of the team and its equipment. He/ she will be responsible for assisting the CLM and CLS with the daily operational requirements at all times. 

Principal Responsibilities

• MAG Lebanon employs CL Team Leader to support mine action as per contractual obligations. A CL Team Leader will be expected to carry out some or all of the following activities, but not limited to:

• Lead by example and motivate his/her staff ensuring that all MAG activities are conducted at the highest level of standards.

• Monitoring team attendance.

• Liaise with local authorities.

• Data gathering and Community Liaison in order to determine the threat.

• Responsible for completing all CL team reports, documentation and forms as per forms in MAG Lebanon SOP.

• Apply safety measures

• Responsible for MAG equipment in possession: GPS, Compass, Camera and any other material handed to fulfil designated tasks.

• Properly use the means of Communications, GPS, Compass, Camera and MAG Vehicles (Fuel & Cleanliness).

• Deliver MRE to target groups at risk.

• Record the impact of MAG work and the need for future work through the collection of Beneficiaries & Land use forms, case studies, photographs and needs assessments.

• Treat all members of the communities interviewed with respect

• Continually monitor the skills, attitudes and approaches of the CLOs, reporting their progress to the CLM.

• Abide by the policies and regulations and to represent MAG in a loyal and responsible manner.

• Complete the Weekly RE and NTS Plan and send it to CLS.

Communication and Reporting

Ensure that the CLS is kept well informed on all tasks with respect to current progress, recommendations, plus any difficulties encountered which may affect MAG activities.

Check quality of all Reports and Forms before passing to CLS.

Develop weekly plan for his/her team.

Handover of survey data to Site Supervisor in case of clearance task being issued.

 

General

  • Aware of gender mainstreaming and ready to participate in gender awareness courses/ trainings.
  • Able to work in a mixed team.
  • Responsible for his/her own continuing training to develop his/ her skills.
  • Understand and uphold the standards outlined in MAG’s Safeguarding Framework, acting with due care and attention to safeguard the wellbeing of anyone that comes into contact with MAG’s work and reporting concerns if they do arise.
