Construction Site Supervisor

Reporting to the national construction manager, the Construction Site Supervisor will oversee construction projects and design analysis works, ensuring efficient management and supervision of construction sites in compliance with health and safety regulations. The Construction Site Supervisor will be operating from MAG Beirut office and variour work sites in Lebanon.

Principal Responsibilities

Project Planning

1. Manage day to day relations with contractors to ensure high quality construction activities.
2. Carry out continual quality assurance of the building contractors during the construction phase to ensure that the construction is of an acceptable standard to MAG and the relevant Lebanese authorities.
3. Ensure that the performance dates specified in the agreed construction plan are being achieved by contractors.
4. Ensure that acceptable photographs are taken of the facility and surrounding location prior to construction, during construction and after construction.
5. Direct and supervise day to day operations of sub-contractors ensuring appliance of common operational procedures.
6. Ensure all work is completed to programme.
7. Under the direction of the construction manager, the construction site supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations on Habitat’s various construction sites which consist of new construction projects, and rehabilitations projects.
8. Monitoring performance of sub-contractors and staff.
9. Produce statements of works achieved, giving right to payment as per MAG standard tools and procedures.

Essential Requirements

1- Experience of using relevant civil engineering software (AutoCAD minimum).

• 2- Substantial knowledge of the development and evaluation of civil engineering design and construction contracts, bills of quantities, and specifications.
• 3- A degree and/or post graduate qualification in civil engineering (B. Sc Minimum).
• 4- Minimum 3 years’ experience in construction engineering field and design.
• 5- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to coordinate activities in a fast-paced environment.
• 6- Experience of coordinating the activities of a multidisciplinary team including contractors and technical staff from a diverse range of backgrounds.
• 7- Experience of developing and using logistics and finance policies, procedures and tools
• 8- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with people from different backgrounds.
• 9- Able to multitask and manage a heavy and varied workload.
• 10- Honest and trustworthy, with highest ethics standards
• 11-Flexible and adaptable
• 12-Proficient in verbal and written communications in English Language.
