Deminer (منقّب و مزيل ميداني عن الألغام و الذخائر والقنابل العنقودية)

Overall purpose of the job
The SEARCHER/DEMINER is responsible for carrying out manual Battle Area Clearance (BAC) and Mine Clearance tasks in accordance with the Mines Advisory Group Standard Operating Procedures, in conjunction with National Mine Action Standards.
Principal responsibilities
 The National SEARCHER/DEMINER will report to the Team Leader and his Deputy and will be responsible for, but not limited to:
1. Operations

The safe execution of all duties directed by his Site Supervisor, Team Leader or his Deputy.
To  stop  immediately  if  unsure  or  upon  encountering  something  new  and  ask  for assistance from the Site Supervisor, Team Leader or his Deputy.
To maintain all mine / BAC clearance operations equipment in his care and ensure that all items are serviceable and in good working order.
To report to the Team Leader or his deputy any defective equipment as soon as it is discovered.
To carry out mine / BAC clearance operations as laid down in MAG SOP’s.
Bring any safety concern or infraction to the attention of the Team Leader or his deputy.
To stop work if any person or animal comes within 25 meters of this working area and report the situation to the Team Leader or his Deputy.
In addition to the overall purpose of the job maintain high hygiene standards in the operational area as well in any camp area.

2. General

Work within the framework of MAG’s core values.
Act as an ambassador for MAG, through professionalism and conduct.
Adhere to all MAG policies and procedures both Technical and Administrational.
Undertake and apply learning from appropriate training and development programmes.
Undertake any other duties appropriate to the post as may be required
Ready to work for a gender oriented organization
Willing to work in a mixed team

3. Qualifications and Requirements:

Must have successfully graduated from a MAG Searcher Course.
Must have the ability to read and write in the local language.
Must be physically and mentally fit.

Understand and uphold the standards outlined in MAG’s Safeguarding Framework, acting with due care and attention to safeguard the wellbeing of anyone that comes into contact with MAG’s work and reporting concerns if they do arise
