Program Officer

MAG is a humanitarian organization clearing the remnants of conflict for the benefit of communities worldwide. MAG is co-laureate of the 1997 Nobel Peace Prize. The individual will be responsible for providing in-country grant administration and grant management in support of MAGs projects by: Producing funding proposals as required to support and develop MAGs activities Monitoring grants, contracts and expenditures and providing regular progress reports to Country Director and MAG HQ With Country Director identify potential donors and funding opportunities to support MAG activities. Assisting in the planning and hosting of programme visits by MAG staff, donors and partner agencies Developing and maintaining systems for recording programme activities and outputs and producing regular internal and high quality donor reports in line with contractual requirements Contribute towards the Business planning process as directed by the Country Director Work within the framework of MAG’s core values, promoting its ethos and mission statemen Desirable Proposal, report and budget writing experience Grant / contract management experience Knowledge of relevant institutional donors with understanding of their needs and requirements Understanding of legal issues in relation to contracts and charity and company law Awareness of relevant security issues in project design  Skills needed: •    Excellent written and spoken English•    Excellent numeracy and IT skills (Microsoft Office)•    Knowledge of international development needs and related issues•    Excellent organizational skills and the ability to coordinate activities•    Ability to effectively prioritise a heavy workload•    Innovative, creative and proactive with an analytical and solution-oriented approach•    Determined and committed to high standards•    Ability to establish effective working relationships at all levels internally and externally•    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills•    Ability to meet deadlines and work calmly under pressure•    Ability to represent and promote MAG•    Self-motivated, flexible and enthusiastic approach to work•    Ability to work independently and within a team.

Please note that the position is open to Lebanese nationals only. Applicants please submit either a CV and cover letter with the reference PO to the MAG office in Nabatieh or by email to kfoster@maglebanon.org • The Application deadline is 31st March 2012 • Short listed applicants will be contacted and invited for interview by 5th April 2012 • A full interview and written test will be organized to take place in the MAG office Nabatieh on the 11th and 12th April 2012. • Expected start date of the position is 1st May 2012 Both men and women are encouraged to apply.
