Site Supervisor

Principal Responsibilities

  • Maintain Safety as a priority.
  • Ensure that all staff report for duty at the correct time.
  • Maintain discipline and control of all persons under his command.
  • Confirm that attendance sheets are accurately recorded and reported.
  • Liaise with the FOM in all matters including the sharing of demining assets in order to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Produce and maintain a Task progress map and site folders in the Administration areas on which daily progress is recorded with the positions of all mines and ERW clearly marked.
  • Maintain an accurate written record of all Task statistics and update the task file.
  • Update the FOM on any suggested clearance plan amendments as work progresses.
  • Visit and check the operations of the Teams on a regular basis in order to maintain effective command and control.
  • Ensure that correct demining procedures are implemented and that safety requirements, briefings and QA procedures are correctly executed by all personnel on site according to MAG SOP’s and NMAS.
  • Conduct regular QA/QC on his teams and report any non-conformance to the FOM.
  • Monitor all corrective actions implemented.
  • In the event of any incident or accident, report to the FOM and conduct a preliminary investigation.
  • Ensure that all task site completion and completion/suspension reports are completed in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with the team medic on a regular basis to ensure that the necessary arrangements for CASEVAC are in place.
  • Will be responsible for demolitions in accordance with SOP’s and NMAS. If the TL are accredited to carry out demolitions the SS will still hold overall responsibility.
  • Establish good relations with the all local authorities and people as well as those living close to the Task area.
  • Take responsibility for all the equipment and assets under his management and ensure the regular maintenance of equipment, vehicles and vehicle logs where applicable. 
  • Ensure internal and external communications are reliably functioning before allowing any work to be conducted.
  • Ensure that all radio and or telecom communication equipment is maintained and operational.
  • Responsible for completion and distribution of all team Operational administration.

GENERAL

  • All MAG staff is expected to undertake the following general duties:

  • Work as part of a team and liaise with other departments to ensure effective communications across the organization.
  • Ensure familiarity with and adhere to all MAG policies and procedures and Safeguarding Framework.
  • Ensure confidentiality of information as required by MAG policies and procedures.
  • Undertake any other duties appropriate to the post as may be required.
  • Aware of gender mainstreaming and ready to participate in gender awareness courses/training
  • Able to work in a mixed team 

Requirements

  • Qualified SS with minimum 2 years of experience as TL
  • IED course is an advantage
  • Experience as SS is an advantage
  • Females are encouraged to apply
