Chief Accountant

Day-to-day Activities:

Ø  Supervises the tasks specific to bookkeeping, petit cash ,payment vouchers & journal entries,

Ø  Monitors banking transactions and the bank reconciliation,

Ø  Develops a monthly statement of accounts (Centers and projects),

Ø  Responsible for preparing financial and performance reports, while assisting centers with monthly and annual budgets,

Ø  Ensures the correct accounting of the mobilization scripts,

Ø  Prepares the closing of the annual accounts to be audited by the auditor,

Ø  Performs other tasks requested by the Finance Manager.

Auditing Activities:

Ø  Supervises the application of existing procedures and techniques in the financial guide,

Ø  Assists the Finance Manager at project cost forecasts/budgets, cost tracking, monitoring and controls for all areas in MSL by assisting project teams, operations, center heads, and other stakeholders,

Ø  Assists the Finance Manager for timely monthly consolidated financial statements, payments, cash-flow management reporting ready for the submission to Board of Directors and donor as requested by Executive Director,

Ø  Issues project financial reports for review by the Finance Manager,

Ø  Maintains internal control, tax studies, and effective accounting system and policies to align with the Accounting and Finance PPM,

Ø maintains an inventory ledger and organizes physical inventory counts,

Ø  Ensures the interface with the auditor.
