Overview:
According to the KAP study, 66% of people think that people with physical disabilities should be included in society while only 26% of people believe so for people with intellectual disabilities. Given the prevailing negative attitudes and behaviours around disability and inclusion, the creation of a more favourable enabling environment in communities is key to the success of any inclusive program.
To do so, UNICEF alongside MS will continue rolling out the Social and Behavioural Change Communication (SBCC) strategy that is based on the socio-ecological model of disability, and so addresses the negative attitudes and behaviors on inclusion of different key stakeholders.
