Social Worker

MS has been working with the small town of Baisariyeh since 1999 on various development projects related to the agricultural sector, youth integration in the labor market etc. Thus, a very close relationship exists between MS and the local community.

The development of youth committees in municipalities has been an action carried out by Mouvement Social for several years. Thus, throughout the Lebanese territory, MS has worked with a slew of municipalities on this subject.

In 2018, a youth committee was established within the municipality of Baisariyeh. Thus, the aim of the current project is to continue what has been done throughout the past year. The priority will revolve around the execution of the youth initiative and the dissemination of Baisariyeh’s experience on the Lebanese territory.  

Responsibilities/ Tasks:

The responsibilities of the social worker will include (not limited to) the following:

-Organize and animate the trainings (or recruit and support the trainer) for Comité Municipal de Jeunes’ (CMJ) members

-Conduct meetings with the members of the CMJ and ensure regular monitoring of the implementation of activities including the execution of the youth initiative within the municipality of Baisarieh

-Organize and guide youth in the sensibilization campaign on discrimination 

-Submit regular progress reports to the project coordinator

-Keep all project documents and participate in all activities and training related to the project

-Monitor the project progress through specific MEAL tools

-Organize meetings / visits with the different actors engaged in actions similar to the CMJ in other localities

-Contribute to the organization of the dissemination and communication event in Baisariyeh in collaboration with MS Head of Center in Saida

-Contribute to the preparation of the advocacy campaign with other actors

Requested Profile

-Bachelor degree in Social Work

-At least 2 years of experience in 2018

-Good knowledge of national and international NGO’s, as well as CP and GBV working groups, task forces and other relevant committees

-Excellent skills in time management and stress management

-Excellent knowledge of the Lebanese context and of the relationship between host and refugee communities

-Excellent knowledge of all Microsoft Office tools, as well as data management

-Good writing skills

-Experience in advocacy campaigns is a plus

-Proficiency in Arabic and French
