Fundraising Manager

nafda is a grassroots movement transforming education in Lebanon by placing schools and communities at the heart of social change. nafda’s mission is to mobilize school communities by anchoring our core values of: Engaged Citizenship, Good Governance and Social Justice in response to Lebanon’s deepening crises.

The work is based on 3 main pillars:

  1. Transforming Learning Experiences: We facilitate connections between schools, their communities and each other and promote collaboration to identify needs and implement projects → for students to gain access to the tools and skills necessary as 21st-century learners and agents of social change. 
  2. Embedding Core Values: We develop tools and initiatives that foster active citizenship and influence communities → to strengthen social cohesion between schools, their surrounding communities, and local actors.
  3. Facilitating Networking Opportunities for Knowledge Sharing & Advocacy: We encourage peer-to-peer collaboration among principals and creating spaces for knowledge sharing → to strengthen the supportive network of principals and inform recommendations for policies based on grassroots insights.

Position Overview:

Fundraising is one of the critical backbones of nafda, as the organization is currently fully dependent on donations.

To support this, nafda is seeking a driven and creative team member to lead donor-facing communications,  fundraising campaigns, and corporate engagement initiatives. The ideal candidate will be skilled in proposal writing, storytelling, digital marketing, and community fundraising, with a strategic mindset and a passion for building meaningful partnerships—both with individuals and values-aligned companies.

This role blends communications, cause marketing, and fundraising, with a focus on expanding small-to-medium individual giving and activating CSR and employee engagement opportunities.

The position reports to the Strategic Partnerships Director, but requires a high level of independence, creativity, and collaboration. The person in this role will work closely with the Communications team, other key staff, and the CEO to ensure alignment and impact across all fundraising and donor engagement efforts.

The candidate must participate in donor meetings, in Lebanon and abroad as needed, and is responsible for developing solicitation, cultivation, and renewal strategies, as well as ensuring all necessary follow-up.

Key Responsibilities

1. Individual Giving (SMI) Strategy & Digital Fundraising

  • Design and implement a strategy to engage small-to-medium net worth individuals (SMIs).
  • Target diaspora and global supporters by designing campaigns and utilising fundraising platforms such as GlobalGiving.
  • Build segmented donor journeys that deepen trust and connection over time.

2. Corporate Donor Identification & Employee Engagement

  • Map and research potential corporate partners, both locally and globally, with CSR-aligned interests.
  • Develop tailored corporate proposals that highlight synergy with nafda’s mission and impact model.
  • Create and manage employee engagement initiatives, including:
  1. Payroll giving programs (monthly employee donations)
  2. “Match-a-gift” campaigns during seasonal or crisis periods
  3. On-site or virtual cause days (e.g. volunteering, storytelling sessions, charity runs such as the Beirut Marathon)
  4. Holiday giving campaigns (e.g. Ramadan, Christmas, Easter) such as branded fundraising activations, or company-partnered drives.

3. Development Communications

  • Works closely with the Communications team to ensure proper execution of key donor-facing materials and campaigns.
  • Provides input, structure, and creative direction for the Annual Report, decks, newsletters, and other relevant materials.
  • Collaborates on storytelling assets (short videos, donor spotlights, principal/student stories), ensuring alignment with fundraising strategy.
  • Oversees donor visibility and ensures content approvals are managed appropriately.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in communications, fundraising, cause marketing, or related fields.
  • Strong writing, campaign-building, and storytelling skills.
  • Experience working with or pitching to corporations and donors.
  • Strategic thinker with creative energy and hands-on execution ability.
  • Familiarity with donor platforms, CRM systems, and social media strategy.
