Under WE4L programme NCLW will be working on achieving the following objectives:
- The production of a gender measurement tool/ Barometer to measure the progress of women situation in Lebanon and to monitor the reality of gender equality in Lebanon based on qualitative and quantitative indicators
- The creation of an enabling environment for women in primary decision making circles through the development of gender strategies to be adopted and implemented by 3 political parties and 3 trade unions/ syndicates (or orders) based on an assessment of the gender situation conducted in a participatory approach (participatory Gender Audit/ PGA)
- The establishment of platforms bringing together women leaders from different fields and young women from different regions, generations, fields, political background. Under this activity linkages of real-world and virtual networks would be created
- The development and adoption of anti-discrimination policy to be adopted by the ministry of Labor and the Chamber of Commerce
- The improvement of the image of women as portrayed in Lebanese ads. Under this activity, an anti-discrimination manual will be developed based on consultations with advertisements companies, NGOs, writers and script writers, TV art directors and gender experts. As a result a curriculum will be developed to be adopted by 3 faculty of arts in three universities as part of their official curriculum
NCLW is recruiting a Project manager who will be responsible for providing support for the implementation of the project’s activities. She/ he will work under the direction of NCLW projects coordinator.
Main Tasks ans responsibilites
The project manager will be responsible of ensuring quality and timely implementation of the project.
She/ he will be responsible for ensuring that the project is on right track and time. She/he will ensure project team management, with finalization of contracts, TORs and proposals. She/he will ensure that the project documents are well archived, complete and ready for financial and programmatic audits.
She/ he will ensure timely and quality reporting on the project activities and progress on the targets as per the set deadlines, including regular production of narrative and financial project reports in coordination with the Treasurer, accountant of NCLW and under the overall supervision of NCLW projects coordinator and Administrative director.
Main deliverables
- The project manager is responsible of establishing, planning and carrying out all project activities, based on gender equality principles and according to the project design
- Organize project steering committee meetings, and provide strategical insights when needed and report on all coordination activities
- Plan and organize regular meetings and events such as conferences, seminars, focus groups, group interviews, awareness raising sessions; prepare and participate in NCLW team meetings and meetings of the project steering committee
- Participate in the different capacity development activities as planned in the project
- Assist in research and assessment efforts and prepare various other documents, including training curricula and meeting minutes
- Undertake regular field visits to ensure proper and efficient implementation of the project activities
- Assist in gathering and reviewing implementing partners’ reports and suggest modifications to planned activities accordingly
- Ensure all donor requirements, project goals and objectives are well understood and strictly adhered to by NCLW program and or project staff and by the other local implementing partner’s staff
- Provide and elaborate all needed information to help documenting, publishing and disseminating the lessons learned and best practices of the project including populating NCLW and HIVOS websites and social media platforms;
- Liaise with local and national CSOs, institutions and public administrations for the implementation of the project and maintain regular contacts with NCLW’s partners and the project’s stakeholders
- Ensure the correct, gender-sensitive use of the NCLW and HIVOS communication and publication guidelines for all relevant content and materials.
- Review and edit all relevant studies and publications in consultation with NCLW projects coordinator
- Provide the needed technical support to the project staff, consultants and experts
- Undertake other tasks as deemed necessary and in consultation with NCLW projects coordinator
