Educational Requirements:

Degree in Human Resources Management: A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field is often required. A master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) can be an advantage.

Specialized Training: Additional coursework or training in nonprofit management, social work, or public administration may be beneficial.

Experience:

Relevant Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in HR roles, with a preference for experience in the nonprofit sector.

Management Experience: Experience in a managerial or leadership role within HR, particularly in an NGO or nonprofit environment.

Specific Experience: Familiarity with recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, and compliance with labor laws.

Skills and Competencies:

Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with diverse stakeholders.

Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with employees, volunteers, and external partners.

Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and projects effectively.

Cultural Competence: Understanding and appreciation of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles.

Problem-Solving Abilities: Aptitude for resolving conflicts and making decisions that balance organizational and employee needs.

Confidentiality: Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity.

Knowledge:

HR Policies and Procedures: Comprehensive understanding of HR best practices and labor laws, both local and international (if applicable).

Nonprofit Sector: Knowledge of the unique challenges and dynamics of working in an NGO, including funding, volunteer management, and donor relations.

Software Proficiency: Familiarity with HR information systems , Microsoft Office, and other relevant software tools.

Responsibilities:

Recruitment and Onboarding: Overseeing the recruitment process, including job postings, interviewing, and onboarding new employees and volunteers.

Policy Development: Developing and implementing HR policies and procedures that align with the organization’s goals and legal requirements.

Employee Relations: Managing employee relations issues, including conflict resolution, performance management, and disciplinary actions.

Training and Development: Designing and facilitating training programs to enhance employee skills and organizational effectiveness.

Benefits Administration: Managing employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.

Compliance: Ensuring compliance with all applicable labor laws and regulations.

Strategic Planning: Contributing to the strategic planning process, particularly in areas related to human capital and organizational development.
