National Institution for Social Care and Vocational Training NISCVT has a zero tolerance policy with regard to Sexual Exploitation and Abuse. Optional: National Institution for Social Care and Vocational Training (NISCVT Beit Atfal Assumoud) is a humanitarian NGO working with the Palestinian communities in Lebanon since 1976 in development and emergency response. NISCVT’s mission is to contribute to the development of the Palestinian community in Lebanon through various projects and services addressing the needs of the whole family focusing on education, community, economic development and VTCs, health and relief including psychosocial support.
Optional Background
NISCVT runs a community based psychosocial support program within the frame of Makani multiservice centers in number of Palestinian camps in partnership with UNICEF. Withing this framework, NISCVT is seeking to recruit Psychologist.
2. Objective of the position:
The purpose of the post is to assist in and support NISCVT’s staff within PSS program and continuum of care within the program conducted by [NISCVT] in the frame of the “[Project]” referred hereafter as the PSS program.
3. Key tasks and responsibilities:
The Psychologist will work under the supervision of [NISCVT] PSS center coordinator, to whom he/she will report.
Specialized service
Following up cases with mental health needs. Oversee and treat various conditions which fall within domain of Psychologist.
Acts as a support and back stopper for a team of PSS Senior Officer and PSS animators/facilitators, in the center.
Upon receiving referrals from colleagues at the center or receiving self-referred individuals; assessing cases development and levels, writing assessment reports for each case. Identifying the appropriate treatment and validated tools.
Develop an intervention plan accordingly and update where needed to accommodate treatment plan. Be able to have validated tools and treatment methods and make informed decisions about what is best for each case. Managing a caseload taking account of priority cases, waiting lists, referral, and discharge of service users and record progress and outcomes.
Coordinate with the rest of the multidisciplinary team in the center, if any, when the case in needed multidisciplinary intervention as needed.
Offer backup
Collaborate with the PSS Senior Officer. Maintain contact with and update on any changes in schedules of case. Collaborate with all the staff implementing activities with the case, and other different domain specialists, if any, who are also taking part in the intervention plan or delivering activities for the same case. Conduct visits to activities spaces if needed, meeting with staff if needed to deliver recommendations about a case followed in the service, guidance for the front-line staff in contact with the case in case it serves best interest of the case and intervention outcome. Be able to effectively relay instructions and communicate verbally and in writing with all stakeholders taking part in case care.
Involving caregivers
Assist in preparing and delivering group sessions for caregivers, i.e. support caregivers on self-help or care for children and accommodate them, if required.
Assist in preparing and delivering awareness sessions for caregivers on child development and other mental health topics. Provide family orientation and meeting caregivers for guidance or to give them instructions as needed. Be able to listen to cases and caregivers to help meet their needs, demonstrate compassion, with the ability to motivate cases, help children and caregivers and set realistic and achievable goals, without discouraging.
Safeguarding
Ensure integration of safeguarding and do no harm standards in service implementation.
Ensure that good quality standards are met in project implementation
Support in dissemination and information on NISCVT Code of Conduct and PSEA Policy
Report any incident or act that causes any harm to beneficiary or to others
Ensure respecting donors’ requirements and the [NISCVT] internal policies and procedures. dress code, attendance, staff regulations and policies, etc.
Documentation and reporting
Writing and maintaining confidential case notes, reports, and session’s logs
Assess progress against goals and prepare reports on progress in writing
Contribute to development of monthly and weekly center workplans
Contribute to preparation and submission of monthly data/or/as per donor requirements.
Contribute to preparation of data project and reports as per donor requirements.
Other
Participate in team meetings with the supervisor and other team members
Support other tasks within [NISCVT] emergency response program as needed.
Frequent travel to PSS program locations [Specify location of the Palestinian Camp/Gathering]
Qualification & Job Requirements:
Licensed Psychologists - master’s degree in clinical psychology, underwent supervision, licensed from MoPH, and at least four years’ experience in the domain including two years in case management.
Understanding of working with children in particularly vulnerable children and experience in Child Protection or MHPSS programs, and any other continuing professional development /self-development is an asset.
Candidates must have the appropriate skills and training using proven quality and safety methods which underpins the delivery of a mental health service.
Demonstrable experience of work and/or support to local NGOs, preferably in the Palestinian camps in Lebanon.
Applicants living in, or adjacent to camps and gatherings will be prioritized
Other Personal qualifications
Good computer skills for detailed record-keeping and familiarity with assistive technological
Strong work ethics and commitment to [NISCVT] goals and values
Prior work experience in program Locations (Palestinian camps) is an asset
Experience of partnership work with INGOs/UN agencies is an asset
Previous experience of emergency response projects is an asset
Excellent communication skills

Flexible and responsive to program challenges, with willingness to take on additional tasks as needed.
Fluency in Arabic is a must. English is an asset
