Employability and Soft Skills Trainer

The Nawaya Network is an NGO based in Beirut, Lebanon that develops the income-generating opportunities of youth through entrepreneurship, employability, and economic development programs. We are seeking five employability and soft skills trainers for our “Employment Hub Program” (in partnership with UNICEF) to provide online trainings to enhance the various employability skills of unemployed youth and to prepare them for the job market.  

Various training topics will be covered, including communication skills, how to write a CV and cover letter, how to write professional emails, interview preparation, how to look for a job, how to network, how to be an effective public speaker, among a number of other topics.

There will be a total of two rounds for the Online Skills Training (OST) in 2022. The first round starts in March 2022 and the second round starts in June 2022 with a total of 100 youth in each round. 

We are seeking five trainers who will each be responsible for training 20 youth over a period of four weeks, for a total of about 55 hours (around three hours per day).

Job Summary  

The Trainer will work under the program called ‘‘Employment Hub” which is an employability and soft skills program for youth in Lebanon, implemented by The Nawaya Network and powered by UNICEF.

The objective of the program is to fully prepare these youth for the job market by improving their employability skills, offer them career guidance, strengthen their technical skills in their field of interest, and provide them with practical work experience via an internship. 

1 - Main Responsibilities Under the Supervision of the Program Coordinator:

• Ensure that the activities are delivered on time, and in line with the program proposal, timeline, and communicated training curriculum 
• Conduct 55 hours of online employability and soft skills training 
• Create Zoom links and share them with the participants
• Deliver interactive sessions using the interactive learning tools
• Support and mentor the youth throughout the phases of the program
• Keep attendance and other records
• Record all the sessions
• Monitor youth performance and engagement to the sessions
• Instruct youth in job seeking, application procedures, resume writing, interview preparation, and job retention skills and attitudes
• Review the “final project submission” of each youth and select the top eight profiles to advance to the next phase (details will be explained by the Program Coordinator)
• Support the Program Coordinator with other and additional tasks as required

2- Competencies and Skills 

• Full adherence to The Nawaya Network mission and vision, as well as the Ethics Code
• A professional background and extensive experience in delivering training
• At least three years of experience as a soft skills/employability trainer
• Arabic and English fluency is a must (spoken and written)
• Good organizational and time-management skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills 
• Advanced Emotional Intelligence Skills
• Proactive, flexible, and dynamic
• Understand effective teaching methodologies and tools
• Willingness to keep abreast of new techniques in training
• Proficient in MS Office (esp. PowerPoint, Excel, and Word); e-learning software is an asset
• Must have a TOT (Training of Trainers) or Certified Business Trainer Certificate

3- Qualifications and Educational Background

• Degree in Human Resources or a related field
