Roles and responsibilities
The purpose of the Monitoring & Evaluation Coordinator position is to coordinate The Nawaya Network’s monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning policies and practices. S/he works closely with M&E field officers, Program Manager, and project partners/donors to ensure that Nawaya's M&E needs are met.
The Monitoring & Evaluation coordinator will be responsible for:
Monitoring standards, guidelines, methods and tools
- Designs data collection tools;
- Follows up on projects’ M&E plans;
- Supports program staff and partners in the implementation of M&E plans
- Reporting to partners on monthly quantitative and qualitative indicators and progress
- Reports on any identified shortfalls in M&E and information management to program staff and proposes solutions where possible;
Maintenance of Nawaya M&E Database
- Coordinates the use of the M&E Database and online mastersheets to support data collection, analysis and reporting needs;
- Coordinates the processing, analysis, and reporting of data online and offline;
- Coordinates the development and/or streamlining of reporting templates that facilitate the acquisition, aggregation and flow of information in and between programs and projects;
- When requested, in collaboration with the M&E Youth Officers, supports Nawaya in troubleshooting the country-level monitoring database for capturing project level data which is aligned with partners’ strategic and annual plan;
Capacity Development
- The Monitoring & Evaluation Coordinator will be responsible for building the competencies of the field M&E team in programs and projects.
- The Monitoring & Evaluation Coordinator will combine field and office time to supervise data collection and field programming in parallel with distance reporting
Knowledge and experience
- Relevant academic background (eg: development, statistics, economics, social sciences)
- Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative monitoring evaluation systems and tools;
- Minimum 3 years of active M&E experience in social development programming required;
- Proven ability to meet tight deadlines with an emphasis on producing quality products;
- Experience in data analysis and assessments;
- Experience in humanitarian field;
- Excellent computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office. Use of technology related to data entry / reporting / MIS/ UN Activity Info preferred.
