The Nawaya Network is an NGO based in Beirut that develops the skills of underprivileged youth and provides them with support to help them generate an income - either through finding employment or starting a small micro-enterprise.
One of Nawaya's programs is SE Factory (SEF), a cutting-edge coding bootcamp in Lebanon on a mission to select high-potential computer science graduates from low income backgrounds and help them develop the necessary skills to become job-ready software engineers.
SEF runs in 3-month cycles, taking a batch of up to 20 students each time, for a total of 3 cycles per year in Beirut and Tripoli. Students go through intensive training on the full stack of web development technologies. In addition, soft skills is critical to the training as students must strengthen their skills to improve their chances for employment.
At the end of the 3-month bootcamp, SEF will facilitate interviews with top software companies and agencies looking to hire, thereby bridging the gap in Lebanon between university graduates and the demands of the job market. SE Factory has trained over 180 youth and currently has a 90% employment success rate.
SE Factory is seeking a part-time soft skills instructor who will be available twice a week for two hours per session. The sessions will cover: CV writing, interview skills, email writing, and public speaking.
***Due to COVID - all sessions will be held online. However, we are seeking someone with close proximity to Tripoli as we will eventually return to in-person sessions and we expect the instructor to be able to give the training in Tripoli.
