Sanabel Nour Volunteer (2)

The volunteers are based in Tripoli at Sanabel Nour’s center.  The volunteers are supervised by Sanabel Nour's Project Coordinator who coordinates directly with NEF’s Field Officer based with Sanabel Nour.

 

Volunteers work in a team of 2 when visiting households in the field. Ideally, the team should be gender balanced, i.e. one man to one woman, to account for the cultural sensitivities in the field and avoid any potential risks on the volunteers.

Application Submission Guidelines

Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensure proper representation of Sanabel Nour, and the project at field level to the community and other stakeholders/actors.
  • Conduct assessments and surveys in the field to identify vulnerable families and people fitting project's selection criteria through: (1) door-to-door canvassing; (2) outreach events highlighting the project.
  • Make notes of cases encountered in the field or in the center which need follow up or referrals, and inform Sanabel Nours’ Project Coordinator and NEF's Field Officer of these cases.
  • Report activities & challenges on a timely basis to Sanabel Nour’s PC and NEF Field Officer.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Sanabel Nour’s PC (based on coordination with NEF Field Officer).
  • Assist the NEF Field Officer in entering data from registration forms and other assessments & inform NEF Field Officer in case of any issue.
  • Support trainers during the Business Development Trainings (BDTs), and small group coaching sessions.
  • Fill baseline before intervention and endline according to project monitoring & evaluation plan by conducting follow-up household visits.
  • Conduct house-visits and/or phone-calls to follow up with beneficiaries as per monitoring & evaluation plan.
  • In coordination with Project Coordinator and Field Officer, sustain a network of community-based actors at the level of municipalities, other organizations and associations to (1) identify all service providers in the region, (2) assist in expanding to new areas, (3) keep abreast of recent changes in areas of implementation.
  • Assist in planning, preparing and implementing the trainings and other events, such as organizing the logistics:
    • Prior to the training: conduct phone invitations, design pick-up schedules, ensure training venue is ready with needed equipment.
    • Day of the training: Ensure the refreshment, lunch & stationary are secured and ready, assist in transportation pick-ups.
    • After the training: assist in transportation drop-offs, ensure training venue is cleaned in coordination with the center.
    • Report to Sanabel Nour Project Coordinator and NEF Field Officer in case of any issue.
  • Deliver to the beneficiaries the protection and GBV awareness messages through activities in the trainings.
  • Conduct pre/post surveys during the trainings.
  • Attend trainings on: Sphere Standards, Code of Conduct, Safeguarding policy, Non-Discrimination & Anti-Harassment, Anti-Fraud, and Conflict of Interest policies. All necessary policies must be read and signed by the volunteers;
  • Attend all trainings organized by NEF including but not limited to: (1) conducting vulnerability assessments in the field, (2) communication with beneficiaries, (3) Refugee Rights, (4) GBV/Protection, (5) Business Development, (6) Advanced Business Development), (7) Training of Trainers, (8) Conflict Resolution, (9) Service Mapping.
  • Carry out any other tasks as requested by Project Coordinator and Field Officer.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Successful female candidates must have the following qualifications:
• University degree, preferably in sociology, psychology, social work or similar field.
• At least 1 year of experience working in humanitarian field and/or doing social work.
• Experience in data entry
• Strong verbal and written Arabic skills
• Working knowledge of English
• Must be eligible to work in Lebanon
