Requirement and Qualifications:
- Experience working in the Lebanese media environment, either as a journalist, media officer, or related position, generating media coverage.
- Strong writing skills, preferably with a history of writing for media, and ability to produce quality communication materials within tight deadlines.
- Strong social media skills (e.g. Facebook/websites/Twitter/blogs)
- Strong organizational and personal management skills, with ability to prioritize work issues to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge on photography and video productions for social media is an asset
- Ability to travel to NPA field offices (Tyre, Ersal) as well as project locations on a regular basis
- Holder of a driver’s license
- The Communications Officer must be eligible for security clearance from LMAC.
- Ability to work creatively, effectively and in an innovative manner to demonstrate the impact of NPA’s work
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to develop and maintain relationships
- Good analytical and conceptual thinking skills, able to understand complex issues and information from different sources and present this clearly and simply
- Excellent communication skills, in written and verbal English and Arabic.
- Experience from capacity building, training, and technical assistance to local/national partner organizations
Tasks:
- To produce digital contents (stories, photos, posts, videos) to be used on NPA Lebanon social media and other global sites occasionally
- To regularly visit projects and partner organizations in the field to ensure a direct link between programme work and media coverage, and to identify and generate high quality media and communication opportunities.
- To work with the programme teams, and local partner organizations, to develop social media strategies, and visibility and communications plans for projects
- To monitor Lebanese and other relevant media of relevance to NPA programming in Lebanon and share with CD and programme staff
- In collaboration with CD and Programme staff, draft communications and advocacy material for different target groups and donors, e.g. newsletters, reports, promotional materials, briefs
- In collaboration with CD and Programme Managers, create and maintain internal system, including contact lists, diaries of upcoming events and opportunities in which NPA can actively participate and engage locally, national and regional/internationally, based on advocacy plans.
- Organize and document NPA online libraries and archives (on SharePoint)
- Perform other tasks as requested by line/head managers
