Paramedic (مسعف)

Functional Prerequisite

  • Relevant training courses and practical experience (nursing, Lebanese Red Cross, Civil Defense, etc.)
  • English language is preferred
  • Mental and physical fitness.
  • Able to work under stress.
  • Good conduct

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical backup, from a medical perspective, for field activities, as required
  • Perform daily control of ambulance and medical equipment and ensure that ambulance is ready at all time
  • Assist the Medical Coordinator in maintaining reporting mechanisms and producing proper records and reports on all aspects of medical activities according to the demands of Lebanon Mine Action Center
  • Continuously check field Team members’ fitness for fieldwork
  • The Paramedics are to be able to carry out their duties in the manner devised in training. This includes being correctly dressed at all times and that they have the appropriate equipment available.
  • They are to be certified in accordance with all applicable requirements of Lebanon Mine Action Center.
  • They are ultimately responsible for their own safety and welfare and they are to ensure that they are adequately equipped and briefed before starting work.
  • They are to be active in encouraging and facilitating the flow of information upwards from working teams to manage.
  • Plan and execute casevac exercises together with Site Supervisor, Medical Coordinator, and Operations Cell.
  • The Paramedic shall always be present and alert at the team/ambulance during working hours.
  • The Paramedic is responsible to administer the Visitors Log in the Task Dossier and register all visitors to the site.
  • Attend compulsory training courses (given by medical Coordinator)
  • Keep the medical equipment clean and in good condition.
  • Is encouraged to provide any suggestions on medical equipment used and improvements to the medical bag.
  • Report fit and on time for work

 

Comments

  • There will be an in-house refresher training followed by an accreditation test by Lebanon Mine Action Center (LMAC) - the Lebanese Army
  • Team work:  Working closely with the Medical Coordinator, Team Leader, Site Supervisor, Field Operations Officer, etc.

Additional Considerations:

  • The place of residence of the applicant for this job must be in South Lebanon
  • NPA employee has abide by its internal rules and regulations
  • NPA employee should complete its e-learning course on Safeguarding (mandatory)
