Project Coordinator - MENA

Function prerequisite

Experience and knowledge:

  • A minimum of 3 years working with civil society organizations in the MENA region; NGO/INGO experience is not essential.
  • Good understanding of human rights-based approaches.
  • Good understanding of major civil society trends and movements in MENA.
  • Experience with implementing project cycles from planning, to implementation, monitoring, evaluation and reporting; experience of managing a project is an asset.
  • Experience and enthusiasm for working with, supporting and strengthening civil society organizations.
  • Experience with budgeting and expenditure monitoring of partners.
  • Experience with remote management and coordination using on-line technology.

Skills and special aptitudes

  • Fluency in oral and written English and Arabic is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent reporting skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, cooperation, and networking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative and work in a small team.

Responsibilities

General Description

The Project Coordinator is responsible for building and following up the relationship with project partners under the MENA Program portfolio.

 

This is a full-time position.

 

Specifically

  • Support and advise partners throughout the project implementation period.
  • Evaluate partners’ capacities using NPA’s tools and develop and implement capacity building plans.
  • Ensure proper project cycle implementation in-line with partnership agreements and donor requirements.
  • Comply with NPA MENA program requirements: planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
  • Follow-up with partners and other MENA country program staff on context developments that can affect the partners and the program.
  • Comply with project administrative requirements in coordination with relevant NPA staff.
  • Ensure proper archiving of documentation pertaining to the projects and partners.
  • In close collaboration with the MENA Programme Manager, contribute to the mapping and building relationships with potential partners for future project proposals.
  • In close collaboration with the MENA Programme Manager, participate concept note and project proposal writing.
