Syria Project Officer

Duties and Responsibilities Under the supervision of the Project Coordinator, the Project Officer is responsible for the overall smooth operations and coordination of the humanitarian food voucher and hygiene voucher project implemented through partner in Bekka Valley.   The Project Officer must also ensure consistency with NPA’s and Solidar Suisse strategy, goals and values. The project Officers roles and responsibilities include: Ensure full and coherent coordination, planning and preparation of project with the Program Coordinator and selected partner; Provide ongoing support to partners capacity building to implement a food aid and non Food Item voucher intervention for refugees and host families;   Regular monitoring of the effectiveness and transparency of beneficiary targeting and selection throughout the project life cycle; Ensure all practical arrangements are in place to ensure safe and timely distribution of beneficiary and host families vouchers according to standard operating procedures; Support partners capacity to implement an independent assessment of local shops at the local level  and monitor shops operations to ensure that shop good governance guidelines are strictly applied throughout the project duration; Regularly follow up on the beneficiary complaint mechanism to ensure that it is being properly utilized; Contribute to the development of a rigorous evaluation and documentation of the voucher approach in order to make better based judgments on their impact and effectiveness; Report any deviations to Project Coordinator immediately for corrective actions; Support the data gathering exercises to help Project Coordinator prepare qualitative and quantitative reports/matrixes defining project progress, problems and solutions;  Facilitate timely compliance with budgetary and programmatic regulations and ensure full information sharing at all times; Liaise and arrange meetings with local communities, partners and traditional authorities in project locations according to need; Attend selected coordination meetings in Bekka Valley; Organize and participate in coordination meetings with partners and other stakeholders.
