Community Center Project Coordinator

JOB PURPOSE: NRC will establish two Community Centres for displaced Syrians in Lebanon. This project reaches out to Syrian families in and around the areas Sadnayel and Aarsal in the Bekaa Valley/Lebanon. NRC seeks to provide information and counselling services relating to access to services; legal status and other related matters. NRC also aims to strengthen the understanding of any protection issues faced by those displaced and, in coordination with other actors, identify ways to address these issues. The role of the PC is to coordinate the day to day activities of these projects ensuring that they are implemented within NRC’s guidelines and as per the project proposals. In addition, the PC will take the lead in all aspects of the project management cycle from needs assessments to project reporting. JOB PURPOSE •In coordination with Projects manager and Field coordinator manage the budget to ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet the objectives of the project. •Is responsible for the performance of the staff. •Act as NRC’s representative in the Bekaa and in Akkar for relevant coordination meetings. •Contribute to the fulfillment of the aims and objectives for NRC in Lebanon. •Be responsible for the overall planning, implementation and technical standards of the projects. •Contribute to the strengthening of the position of NRC in Lebanon; liaising with the Lebanese authorities, the UN agencies, donors, other NGOs and partners. •Act as the focal point for the contractors and the community. REPORTING TO •The PC reports to the Field Manager/ Project Coordinator. TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES The Project Coordinator is responsible for the overall planning and implementation of the project. The PC will: •Develop procedures for the implementation of the Community Centers programme in accordance with NRC principles and ways of working. •Ensure that all project activities are in accordance with budget lines. •Ensure a constructive co-operation with NRC’s other programmes in Lebanon, in particular the Bekaa and Akkar regions. •Prepare final and intermediate reports on Community Centers activities. •Ensure a constructive co-operation with local authorities. •Ensure a constructive co-operation with other international and local NGOs as well as the UN family •Participate in relevant meetings. REQUIREMENTS oAt least 3 years of experience as project officer in education programs oProven experience in designing & facilitating training programs oProven experience in community sensitization/ mobilization. oStrong documentation, research and report writing skills. oStrong language skills (Arabic and English verbal + written) oKnowledge & relevant experience in child protection issues. oExperience in working with local NGOs & CBOs
