1. Role and responsibilities
The CSMC Information and Reporting Officer will collaborate closely with the whole CSMC team to develop and supervise the systems and processes for the collection, storage, and management of information and data relating to the CSMC programme, and for specific M&E activities that need to be carried out for the programme – such as surveys and questionnaires. He/she will have a background in CSMC, which will be used to ensure that Information Management and M&E activities allow for quality control of programme implementation, and learning to ensure improvement in methodologies and practices. In collaboration with the M&E Department, he/she will undertake basic analysis of routine data and information collected. It is expected that the CSMC Information and Reporting Officer will spend roughly 50% of his/her time in the office to undertake information and M&E related desk-based tasks, and the rest of the time in the field for both generic CSMC Programme activities (similar to those carried out by other CSMC team members and M&E specific activities such as surveys. This time split is dependent on the emerging needs of the programme implementation and will be adjusted on an ongoing basis.
The CSMC Information and Reporting Officer reports to the CSMC Coordinator.
Responsibilities
Follow-up with CM team for updates and reports with verified information on humanitarian gaps and duplications in the informal settlements, and ensure proper archiving of the information
Monitor quality of the reports, provide feedback to team members, and adjust templates as required
Ensure proper hardcopy and soft-copy filing of reports and data collected by entire CSMC team
Manage all data required for monitoring of CSMC indicators (internal, donor, and Activity Info), including through creation and management of databases and Excel spreadsheets
Create and adjust templates and tools for collection of data and information in and from the field. Ensure team members are trained and familiar with the templates and tools to be used correctly
Support and supervise data entry of information collected from the field (e.g., population forms; participant lists)
Support and supervise assessments and collation, storage, and analysis of data collected
Help organize and undertake surveys, FGDs, and questionnaires to monitor programme implementation and impact; ensure collation of results; provide initial analysis of results; and work with CSMC Coordinator to present finding to the team to ensure learning
Ensure protection of sensitive data
Any other relevant duties as requested by the CM Project Manager or CSMC Coordinator.
Critical interfaces
By interfaces, NRC means processes and projects that are interlinked with other departments/units or persons. Relevant interfaces for this position are:
NRC’s M&E Officers in the North and the M&E Manager
Refugees representatives: a good collaboration with the representatives is critical for reaching the project objectives of increased participation by the refugees
Other NRC Core Competencies: Coordination with all the CCs on activities in the North.
The employee is required to respect the principle of strict confidentiality and the NRC Code of Conduct. The tasks and responsibilities might change during the contract period due to operational needs.

Ordinary National Diploma (or above) in Social Work, social sciences, economics, development or other relevant field
2 to 3 years of relevant work experience in humanitarian and/or community based projects, combined with demonstrable skills in database management or other relevant skills (see below)
Experience of working in the geographical area
Good English language level
Context/ Specific skills, knowledge and experience:
Experience in information management and analysis, and understanding of M&E approaches and techniques
IT skills (knowledge of Excel essential, knowledge of Access or other database system preferred; knowledge of SPSS or other data analysis software a bonus)

Good cultural awareness and sensitivity, as well as highly approachable, trustworthy and understanding of the principles of confidentiality
Knowledge of the NGO operations and the dynamics of the humanitarian sector. Specific knowledge of NRC is preferred.
