Csmc Project Manager, North

These attitudes and believes shall guide our actions and relationships.  1.      Role and responsibilities The following is a brief description of the role. Generic responsibilities (max 10) Manage the CSMC projects in North according to strategy, proposals and plans Ensure adherence to NRC policies and donor requirements Develop annual and monthly work plans for the North CSMC projects Supervision, capacity building of, and support to North CSMC staff Develop project proposals for CSMC projects in North in line with the NRC Lebanon CSMC strategy Develop internal and external reports on CSMC programme implementation in North Cooperate with relevant partners and local authorities Organize and facilitate trainings for the CSMC North team, relevant partners, stakeholders and beneficiaries Monthly activity/project reports and other reporting as required Ensure proper filing of all project documents Represent NRC in CSMC coordination structures Specific responsibilities Oversee the strategic direction of the CSMC projects in North, including the urban/out of camp approaches: ensuring that the programme responds to the particular needs and context of North, through undertaking needs assessments and surveys; adapting existing programming to changing needs; and undertaking programme development (design and proposal development). Responsible for managing and overseeing the implementation of the CSMC programme (including urban approaches) in North. Support the CSMC programme’s efforts to standardise and harmonise its work throughout Lebanon. Support the development of capacity and responsibilities of CSMC staff in Lebanon. Develop a strong profile and a leading role for the CSMC programme in inter-agency coordination in North. Coordinate with other CSMC agencies in North and with the national CSMC Task Force on geographical coverage and methodologies. Identify new project areas (geographically and technically) for expansion of NRC CSMC in North. Identify and programme for holistic programming with other NRC Core Competencies in North. Update CSMC Specialist and North AM on all external strategic policies and changes. Critical interfaces By interfaces, NRC means processes and projects that are interlinked with other departments/units or persons. Relevant interfaces for this position include: Working together with the other NRC Core Competencies (programmes) to ensure a holistic and integrated response to the needs of refugees in North. Supporting and capacity building the CSMC national staff in the North. In coordination with the AM and the CSMC Specialist, representing the CSMC North projects in liaising with donors and external partners. 2.      Competencies Competencies are important in order for the employee and the organisation to deliver desired results. They are relevant for all staff and are divided into the following two categories:  1. Professional competencies These are skills, knowledge and experience that are important for effective performance. Generic professional competencies for this position: Experience managing projects relating to camp/collective site management, protection, community services, or community capacity building in a humanitarian/recovery context. Experience in leading a project through the full project cycle. Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts. Experience from working in the geographical region. Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities. Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile. Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Knowledge of Arabic would be an asset.   Context related skills, knowledge and experience (shall be adapted to the specific position): •             Project cycle management. •             Management of staff. •             Managing budgets. •             Working in the Middle East or similar context. •             Designing and implementing training on project management and operational issues, including training of trainers to staff from a range of backgrounds. Experience in facilitating trainings. Having undergone a CSMC ToT an asset.  •             Providing on-the-job coaching. 2. Behavioral competencies (max 6) These are personal qualities that influence how successful people are in their job.
