Driver

The driver is expected to represent Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) Lebanon in a respectful and professional manner and always act in accordance with NRC Code of Conduct. JOB PURPOSE Driving and looking after the vehicles of NRC. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -To drive assigned vehicles according to NRC drivers manual. -To transport authorized passengers on their official duties, as well transport cargo safely and as instructed. This in-cludes collecting materials from project and suppliers. -In transporting goods and materials the driver is responsible for handling and stacking of cargo to avoid damage and deterioration of goods as well as of the vehicle. -Performance of daily inspections according to NRC standards. Applying the standard regulations and procedures in case of accident. A written report on any accident is to be submitted to the supervisor immediately. -Ensure that non-NRC staff, needing to travel in NRC vehicles has authorization from the appropriate person. In case of an accident with non-NRC staff passengers on board that have not signed the NRC disclaimer (waiver) form, any compensation to the passenger(s) will be the full responsibility of the driver. - Possessing a valid driving license at all times. Possessing any additional authorization required to perform his duties as driver. -Arrange any appointments or procedures in relation to the office hand work. -The driver should ensure and promote efficient and cost-effective use of NRC’s assets and resources in order to max-imize funding to beneficiaries -Understand and obey all traffic laws and regulations. -Ensure that all the passengers are using the seatbelt and obeying the NRC regulations. Any violence in regards to the drivers’ manual, the driver is considered responsible. -Preparation of all necessary documents and worksheets related to the fleet as requested by Logistics Officer, for ex-ample the logbooks.
