Education Field Assistant

NRC has established three Community Centres for displaced Syrians in the Bekaa Valley, Lebanon. This project reaches out to Syrian families in and around the areas Saadnayel, Baalbeck, and Aarsal in the Bekaa Valle  to improve their living conditions. This is done by hosting the Syrian and local community in educational, recreational, life skills, sports, and social activities. The Education Field Assistant (EFA) is expected to represent Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) Lebanon in a respectful and professional manner and always act in accordance with the NRC Code of Conduct.   JOB PURPOSE The EFA will work with the education team to provide quality recreational and educational sessions to local youth through assessing needs, assisting in designing and facilitating activities, and reach out to community members through field visits.   DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the physical, social, and emotional development of children and youth with an emphasis on language development and emergent literacy skills Assist in developing and maintaining relations with refugee and host communities, local authorities and other local actors Assist with planning work on weekly and monthly basis   Experience in psycho social support supporting      children and youth’s emotional, social, mental, and spiritual needs. To explain the project aims and objectives      to the beneficiaries through daily contact and the organization of regular      meetings Assist in conducting and      preparing mapping of relevant services being provided. Assist in conducting regular      assessments (including focus group discussions, interviews,      questionnaires, etc.). Assist with preparation of      outreach work and conduct frequently outreach information and counselling      sessions with identified communities. Contribute to preparation of      relevant documents (including brochures, information notes, information      board updates) for target communities. Coordinate with other NRC staff      at field level. Assist with monitoring and following-up      on the quality of services provided at the Centre Assist in designing the needed forms,      questionnaires and other templates. Assist in maintaining archiving      system up to date (both in hardcopies and electronically). Report weekly & monthly (or      more often, if required) on activities and results to the relevant NRC      staff. Carry out administrative tasks      as agreed upon. Perform any other task as      assigned by NRC management.   Requirements University level degree in education, social studies, or any other relevant field At least 2 years of experience in similar positions/education platform Experience in community sensitisation/mobilization. Ability to work under pressure Team spirit and flexibility Strong communication (fluency in Arabic and English necessary) Strong Computer Skills (Word, Excel, Power point)
