Education Field Coordinator

The Education Field Project Coordinator (EFC) is expected to represent the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) Lebanon in a responsible manner and always to act in accordance with the NRC Code of Conduct. The Education FC shall work under the guidance of the Education Program Manager to fulfil the objectives of the NRC as stated in the Country Strategy and the Project proposals. The Education FC is responsible for following up the planning and implementation of all the NRC education projects in the Bekaa area.   Major Areas of Responsibility   In close collaboration with the education PM, coordinate and manage NRC’s education projects in Bekaa area. Responsible for pedagogical planning, development, implementation and follow-up of the education project as agreed in the overall plan. Participate with the Projects Coordinator in the development of field specific project work plans including financial plans. Ensure that activities implemented are in line with approved plans and budgets. Ensure that the projects implemented are realized in a timely manner and as per the objectives and planned activities. Monitor, evaluate and suggest changes and improvements in the project based on observations and discussions with the local staff and the PM. Design and implement education assessments in the Bekaa area of Lebanon. Assess needs for capacity building among education staff, partners, teaching staff (beneficiaries) and discuss actions with PM Coordinate meetings with different stakeholders (school authorities, students, parents and communities representatives, NGOs, UNRWA representatives and any other relevant stakeholders) in the South Represent NRC in the local education coordination meetings such as the meetings of the Education Working Groups In coordination with the Knowledge Management Specialist, monitor and follow-up on quality of services provided by NRC in the field. Make recommendations for improvement Compile and up-date information in the field on internal and external factors impacting education and the project results, and prepare monthly reports Prepare monthly project reports and as required by Education PM Any other task relevant to the position and agreed upon with the Education PM.     Experience Required   At least 5 years of field experience in managing education projects Experience in education project management Experience in team management   Educational Requirements   University degree in Education or Social      Studies. Specific programs in Psychology or      Social Work are an advantage.   Additional Qualities a Successful Candidate Should Possess   Experience from working in refugee camps and gatherings Experience in strategic thinking and planning skills, be able to      set priorities, prepare manageable work plans and to evaluate progress. Proven communication, interpersonal,      representation, negotiation and leadership skills Team spirit Strong communication and organizational skills.  Strong documentation, research and report writing skills. Fluency in English     Achievement indicators   To be defined with the Education PM – will include, among others: Objectives have been reached according      to established plans Project milestones achieved Field plans have been developed and      timely followed Reports have been produced at regular      intervals Good relationships with partners in the      Field have been maintained and enhanced       A good working environment has been      established
