Education Officer (2 Vacancies)

NRC will establish two Community Centres for displaced Syrians in Lebanon. This project reaches out to Syrian families in and around the areas Saadnayel and Aarsal in the Bekaa Valley/Lebanon. NRC seeks to provide information and counselling services relating to access to services; legal status and other related matters. NRC also aims to strengthen the understanding of any protection issues faced by those displaced and, in coordination with other actors, identify ways to address these issues. The Community Development Officer is expected to represent Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) Lebanon in a responsible manner and always to act in accordance with the NRC Code of Conduct. JOB PURPOSE: 1.Participate in design and implementation of training needs’ assessments (NGOs, CBOs involved in educational/recreational/psycho-social and other kinds of services.) 2.Participate in design of training programs based on needs’ assessments 3.Develop training modules, both in English and Arabic 4.Participate in organization, facilitation and implementation of training modules/ training programs for NGOs & CBOs staff & managers 5.Ensure a follow-up of trainings in the field by supporting implementation of new management techniques and development of activities (using a variety of techniques including coaching) 6.Participate in organization, facilitation and implementation of recreational activities for children, youth and adults 7.Ensure follow up on recreational activities. 8.Organize and facilitate workshops/ sensitization sessions on education and child protection 9.Organize and facilitate workshops/ sensitization sessions on community involvement in education 10.Organize and facilitate meetings and workshops with NGOs, CBOs and Popular Committees. 11.Participate in preparing, conducting and evaluating coaching sessions for community workgroups. 12.Constantly liaise with NRC education team and participate to/ support education team’s training activities 13.Ensure that the projects implemented are realized in a timely manner and as per the objectives and planned activities. 14.Provide timely reports on activities. Experience Required oAt least 3 years of experience as project officer in education programs oProven experience in designing & facilitating training programs oProven experience in community sensitization/ mobilization. oStrong documentation, research and report writing skills. oStrong language skills (Arabic and English verbal + written) oKnowledge & relevant experience in child protection issues. oExperience in working with local NGOs & CBOs Educational Requirements oUniversity degree in Education or Social work required.
