Finance Intern

NRC, the Norwegian Refugee Council is an independent, humanitarian, non-profit organization working with Refugees and internally displaced People worldwide. NRC Lebanon is opening its doors for an internship opportunity within the Finance department in Beirut. Our intern programs are a great springboard to a future career within the nonprofit sector, it gives you the chance to hone your skills and gain practical experience needed for your future studies or work opportunities. The NRC HR Intern is expected to work in accordance with the organization’s core values: dedication, innovation, inclusivity and accountability. These attitudes and believes shall guide our actions and relationships.   1.      Role and responsibilities Comply with NRC’s Financial policies and procedures Review NRC Financial documents for the period 2013-2016 to copy and scan invoices including VAT payments Establish a tracking sheet for VAT invoices to request reimbursements accordingly   Maintain records and documenting (Soft and Hard copies) of invoices including VAT Ensure that mandatory documents for new staff related to Ministry of Finance are filled, signed and  shared with the audit company to be registered in MoF Assist the Finance team in filing and achieving supporting documents as needed Fulfill any other related tasks that may be assigned by the Finance Manager   2.      Competencies Competencies are important in order for the employee and the organisation to deliver desired results. They are relevant for all staff and are divided into the following two categories: 1. Professional competencies These are skills, knowledge and experience that are important for effective performance.  Good command of English Educational Background or Experience in finance/Accounting field Strong organization and communication skills Ability to work independently or fit well within a team Proficient in MS Office or other software 2. Behavioral competencies These are personal qualities that influence how successful people are in their job, and the following are essential for this position: Communicating with impact and respect Working with People Planning and delivering results 3.      Performance Management The employee will be accountable for the responsibilities and the competencies, in accordance with the NRC Performance Management Manual.
