1. Role and responsibilitiesThe following is a brief description of the role.Generic responsibilities (max 10)These responsibilities shall be the same for all positions with the same title. The responsibilities shall be short and essential. Details belong in the Work and Development plan.1. Implement financial systems and procedures according to Financial Handbook and other NRC policies at office level2. Prepare bank accounts and cashbox reconciliations 3. Verify that vouchers and supporting documents meet NRC standards before payment4. Ensure timely payment of contractors, suppliers and other expenditures5. Ensure sufficient cash in the bank and in the cash boxes6. Ensure filing of all financial documents according to NRC standards7. Support project staff in financial matters
Specific responsibilities These responsibilities shall be adapted to the particularities of the job location and context, phase of operation, strategic focus and type of programme intervention. This section shall be revised whenever a new employee is hired or the context changes significantly. • Daily book keeping, utilizing the NRC Agresso accounting system.• Ensure that all the supporting documents (purchase requests, purchase orders, quotations, authorization of payment, etc.) are attached to the receipts and invoices.• Monthly recording of VAT for all invoices and keeping a copy of each.• Petty Cash holder: ensure proper cash payments are done.• Ensure that cash and bank books records are updated on daily basis, ensuring that all coding is in line with donor and country coding structure.• Prepare payments for all centralized commitments including; NSSF, income tax, consultants and vendors; in accordance with NRC’s financial procedures and contract policies.• Registering new suppliers into Agresso/registering expats and international staff into Agresso• Performs other duties as assigned by Finance Coordinator or the Finance Manager.
Critical interfacesBy interfaces, NRC means processes and projects that are interlinked with other departments/units or persons. Relevant interfaces for this position are: • Coordinate with Programme staff• Coordinate with support departments.
