1. Role and responsibilities
The following is a brief description of the role.
Generic responsibilities
These responsibilities shall be the same for all positions with the same title. The responsibilities shall be short and essential. Details belong in the Work- and Professional Development Plan.
Coordinate and implement the Formal Education and Structure Non Formal Education project according to strategy, proposals and plans
Ensure adherence to NRC policies and donor requirements
Develop annual activity and work plans
Supervision, training and development of Education staff
Promote and share ideas for improvement and necessary changes in the activities
Cooperate with relevant partners and local authorities
Organize trainings for the Education team, relevant partners and beneficiaries
Monthly activity/project reports and other reporting as required
Ensure proper filing of all project documents
Specific responsibilities
These responsibilities shall be adapted to the particularities of the job location and context, phase of operation, strategic focus and type of programme intervention. This section shall be revised whenever a new employee is hired or the context changes significantly.
Proactively contribute to Formal Education and ALP strategy development by giving input on needs and gaps from relevant area
Ensure implementation according to technical direction as determined by the Education Advisor and Project Manager, and ensure high technical quality of delegated project portfolio
Promote and share ideas for improvement and necessary changes in the activities
Ensure that projects which target beneficiaries reach those most in need of protection and assistance through consistent application of vulnerability criteria
Responsible for the achievement of beneficiaries’ satisfaction through the effective delivery of projects
Responsible for providing project and area specific information to PM for proposal development
Responsible for development of detailed work plans for delegates projects
Responsible for management and implementation of delegated portfolio of Education projects (activities and budget) according to strategy, proposal and plan, as delegated from PM
Develop, manage and monitor project budget (in cooperation with PM), as delegated from PM
Responsible for providing regular reports to the PM on project implementation
Responsible for seeking support and mentoring on technical issues from PM
Participate in the recruitment of area project staff
Responsible for capacity building of project staff and transferring key skills through on the job training, and report to PM on training needs
Responsible for liaison and collaboration with relevant local authorities and stakeholders
Accountable for adherence to NRC policies
Promote rights of IDPs/returnees in line with the advocacy strategy
Critical interfaces
By interfaces, NRC means processes and projects that are interlinked with other departments/units or persons. Relevant interfaces for this position are:

Staff capacity building: Education Advisor, HR Development Officer
Implementation: Education Advisor

Generic professional competencies for this position:
Experience from working as a Education Project Coordinator in a humanitarian/recovery context
Experience in implementing Formal Education and ALP programmes
Experience in coordinating with Government Bodies and Representatives, specifically MEHE and CERD
Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and verbal
Context related skills, knowledge and experience (shall be adapted to the specific position):
Knowledge of the Education context (gaps and needs) in North Lebanon
Knowledge of the Back To School programme
Experience establishing relationship and agreements with schools and Head Teachers
Experience establishing parents committees and working with a community based approach
