Grants Coordinator

These attitudes and believes shall guide our actions and relationships.  1. Role and responsibilities The following is a brief description of the role. Generic responsibilities 1)Under the supervision of the Programme Director, organise and be the focal point for the preparation of concept papers and proposals documentation in close coordination with all relevant NRC Lebanon departments; 2)Ensure conformity between NRC Lebanon’s proposal and the donor’s rules ensuring; 3)Liaise with the Finance Manager to ensure development of budgets are informed by planned programme activities; 4)Ensure the inclusion of cross-cutting elements of programme (protection and gender) and M&E plans in all proposals; 5)Develop and maintain a reporting calendar for all grants, ensuring sufficient lead time for the preparation of timely reports for internal sign off in advance of submission to donors; 6)Collate and disseminate  narrative reports (donor and internal) ensuring close coordination with the relevant departments; 7)Review financial reporting against narrative reports and highlight any inconsistencies for follow up with the relevant department; 8)Participate in NRC in the Programme Managers Meetings, Internal Programme Meetings etc, as required; 9)Ensure proper filing of all project documents, including the development of an archiving system. 10)Any other task relevant to the position as requested by the Programme Director Specific responsibilities Under the supervision of the PD, organise, facilitate and document grant opening meetings at national and field level; Collate field level work plans and review against overall project plans to assist in monitoring of implementation rates; Undertake regular visits to NRC Lebanon field activities to ensure a full understanding of each project implemented. Critical interfaces Relevant interfaces for this position are: Liaison with Programme Managers, Field Managers and Programme Coordinators/Field Coordinators to ensure that Liaison with M&E and finance department at planning stage, and throughout project implementation. 2.Competencies 1. Professional competencies These are skills, knowledge and experience that are important for effective performance. Professional competencies for this position: Previous experience of coordinating an NGO grants portfolio; Experience in the mainstreaming of cross-cutting elements into projects; Demonstrated ability to develop strong working relationships outside of a line management structure; Strong financial literacy skills; Demonstrated organisational skills; Previous experience from working in complex and rapidly changing contexts. Context related skills, knowledge and experience: Knowledge of key humanitarian donors, their policies and procedures Excellent standard of written and spoken English 2. Behavioural competencies These are personal qualities that influence how successful people are in their job.
