Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Technician

The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is a non-governmental, humanitarian organization with 60 years of experience in helping to create a safer and more dignified life for refugees and internally displaced people. NRC advocates for the rights of displaced populations and offers assistance within the shelter, education, and emergency, legal assistance, and water, sanitation and hygiene sectors.

1. Role and Responsibilities:

The ICT Technician will assist in the implementation and management of the software applications and hardware infrastructure that supports NRC operations. The ICT Technician will be responsible for general first tier ICT support, and involved in data sanitization whenever applicable

Generic Responsibilities:

1. Adhere to NRC policies, guidance, procedures, and Bekaa ICT Plans.
2. Deliver timely and high quality ICT hardware, software and services to the area offices.
3. Perform manual updates/upgrades to ICT assets when needed.
4. Maintain Internet and network connectivity in Bekaa offices.
5. Ensure that NRC’s related activities are implemented within NRC’s Protection mainstreaming guidelines and reports any breaches/concerns to the ICT Officer for proper action.
6. Report to the ICT Officer on a daily basis the work done in each office, listing all relevant details on devices and users.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and update operating systems.
• Provide software and system troubleshooting and support.
• Connect/troubleshoot printers and peripheral devices.
• Connect users to the Wi-Fi network and troubleshoot their network connectivity issues.
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair wired and wireless networks infrastructure.
• Perform other tasks as requested by ICT Officer, such as: formatting computers, testing access, applications setup, cabling, etc

• ICT Officer in Bekaa

2. Qualifications and Relevant Skills:

• Bachelor or technical degree in IT, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a relevant domain.

• 1 – 2 years of experience in networking and IT.
